2021-02-17 13:00:00 (link to chat)Just traded for Jean Segura + $15 (15% of annual budget) for Jamie Barria and Estevan Florial in 12 team, OPS/FIP (plus standard 5x5) league. I was looking for some speed and average. Does Barria or Florial ever become good enough to make me regret that?
(Logan from NJ)
I do not think Barria or Florial will make you regret that, no. (Mark Barry)
2020-12-18 12:00:00 (link to chat)Does Estevan Florial still have a decent chance of becoming a regular at this point?
(ari blum from ny)
Decent? Yes. Would I take it at -105? I'd like to see him dominate an upper minors level first. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2019-07-31 12:00:00 (link to chat)If you were a seller which outfielder would you value more as a trade return, the Yankees Estevan Florial or the Brewers Trent Grisham?
(DJ from Madison, WI)
I think I might gamble on Grisham at this point. (Craig Goldstein)
2018-07-16 19:00:00 (link to chat)"Talk about" a couple fun OF who've fought injuries this year and lost development time - Jhailyn Ortiz and Estevan Florial. Both obv still raw with wild approaches - do they make the necessary adjustments to get to the tantalizing skills?
(Jojo from SD)
Ortiz hits the ball with such authority, but there's very little idea what to do at the plate and essentially no secondary skills. In a lot of ways it reminds me of Dylan Cozens, and I liked Dylan Cozens, but that's not a comp Phillies fans are going to want to hear either.

I'm still heavily in on Florial, although losing two months probably keeps him in A-ball all season which is personally disappointing as someone who gets a lot of Trenton games. (Jarrett Seidler)
2017-11-03 13:00:00 (link to chat)Has anyone done anything in the AFL to change their outlook a decent amount? I know many preach that they don't give much weight to AFL performance...and then those same people rank Gleyber Torres #1 after what he did in 2016.
(Marvin from FLA)
I don't really put much stock in Fall Ball past seeing if guys are healthy (Albert Abreu for example). Wide variety of competition level, pitchers are gassed, run environment akin to the surface of the moon. If you need the league to tell you Ronald Acuna, Estevan Florial, and Justus Sheffield are really good prospects, I wonder what you were doing all Summer (and in some cases, in 2016). (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2017-09-14 13:00:00 (link to chat)Besides Soto... What group of youngins do you see making the leap like Acuna, Vlad, Bo, Tatis, etc. this upcoming season?
(Patrick from Yonkers)
Keep an eye on Estevan Florial. (Nicolas Stellini)
2017-07-06 12:00:00 (link to chat)How close was Estevan Florial to the top 50?
(Brian from CT)
So part of the problem of with doing a midseason list is the timing of looks. We haven't seen Charleston yet, but are getting several team looks in the next month. The reports are really good, and I had one that was reeeeeeeeeally good, but I'm exercising a little caution until we get eyes on him. His name did come up though, as did like 12 different Yankees. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2017-06-13 12:00:00 (link to chat)Can you name 3 guys in A ball who have similar potential and could blow up like those before them (ie: Acuna, Jimenez, Robles, Vladito). Looking to snag the next stars in my league... Thanks in advance!
(Peter from Houston)
We get these questions year round so it's hard to keep track of guys you haven't heard of or aren't rostering already but guys we like are: Dustin May, Daniel Brito, Estevan Florial, Christian Pache. (Craig Goldstein)
2017-05-18 13:00:00 (link to chat)Been seeing Estevan Florial's name pop up more and more. Is the hype real? Is he a 20/20 guy if things break right? Top 100 by mid season at current pace?
(Jerry from World)
Yep. We only do a top 50 at midseason and that might be a bit too aggressive, but I'd be surprised if he isn't a 2018 Top 101 guy. Charleston is gonna be a must-see for me in the second half just to confirm this. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2017-05-04 13:00:00 (link to chat)I know it's early, and he's still so young, but can we start getting excited about Estevan Florial?
(John from Hells Kitchen)
I had someone tell me he was right now the third best prospect in the Yankees system, so go crazy I guess. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2017-04-28 13:30:00 (link to chat)There are some interesting tools guys in the low minors who are putting things together so far this year: Monte Harrison, Marcus Wilson, and Demi Orimoloye to name a few. Do you have any favorites you can say a few words about?
(This Guy from Seattle, WA)
I think I've covered Harrison and Wilson in depth. Orimoloye I liked out of the draft but was always going to be a slow burn. While we're talking Milwaukee prospects, I love love love Lucas Erceg, and am highly intrigued by Mario Feliciano. I'll be catching High-A Carolina tomorrow for a double-header so should have more thoughts on Corey Ray, Corbin Burnes, etc too. Estevan Florial is also a name to watch if you're not already. (Craig Goldstein)
2017-03-16 13:00:00 (link to chat)Thoughts of Estevan Florial? Next top NYY prospect?
(Terry from NJ)
We have reached the "I've never heard of this guy" portion of the-hey wait I DO remember hearing a bit about him! Someone whose opinion I respect really liked what they saw. That's all I know. (Matthew Trueblood)
