2016-06-20 16:00:00 (link to chat)Who is the best team you have seen in your scouting life?
(Larry from NC)
I will preface this by saying that I have not been scouting for that long. I have probably been unaware of the talent of other teams while at games.

But I will say 2014 Myrtle Beach Pelicans. I did my summer internship down there and attended far too many games. Here are the major leaguers from that team: Joey Gallo, Cody Ege, Odubel Herrera, Hanser Alberto, Alexander Claudio, Keone Kela, Chi Chi Gonzalez, Andrew Faulkner, Abel De Los Santos.

While these guys are not in the big leagues yet, they will be soon: Nick Williams, Lewis Brinson, Chris Bostick, Jorge Alfaro, Ryan Cordell, Jose LeClerc, Samuel Wolff

And some other interesting guys with value: Preston Beck, Victor Payano, Kellin Deglan, Michael De Leon, Christopher Garia, Chad Bell

Man was that team loaded... (Steve Givarz)
2014-12-16 19:00:00 (link to chat)#Diesel Thanks for having this chat and terrific work on the Top Prospect lists. What are your thoughts on Chris Bostick and Abel De Los Santos, the 2 prospects involved in the Ross Detwiler deal? Also, why did BP favor Henry Owens over the biggest sleeper prospect in the minors, Manuel Margot?
(NatsGM from Maryland)
Thank you sir!

As for your first question, the esteemed Tucker Blair summed up the two prospects nicely in this Transaction Analysis: http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=25201

As for your second question, there was some thought given to placing Margot ahead of Owens in Boston's top 10. There was some support for it within the team and I toyed with it. However, there's still enough of a gap with the bat despite what he showed in the first tour in the Carolina League and Owens can end up a solid mid-rotational starter in this view. Based on the snap shot in time, Owens was ahead by a little bit of margin. (Top 10s Chat With Chris Mellen)
2014-04-01 13:00:00 (link to chat)Did any prospect come to camp who drastically improved/got worse to the point where it greatly changed your opinion of their ceilings?
(MonkeyEpoxy from Amarillo)
A few: Chris Bostick with the Rangers looked a lot better than I expected. It's a 2B profile, but I'm sold this kid can hit, which could make him more than just a utility option down the line. He really impressed me. I wasn't especially high on A's BJ Boyd coming in, but I dropped him a grade after seeing his spring physique and swing at the plate. I'm not a fan. I wanted to like Courtney Hawkins more but I just can't go high on the guy. It's not a role 3 or anything because of the power potential and athleticism, but I can't put a major league regular grade on him. He's a 4 for me. (Jason Parks)
2014-01-02 13:00:00 (link to chat)Do you have an under the radar prospect or someone that isn't getting any love that you want to tout?
(chris from Phoenix)
I know he's known already, and had a pretty rough year but I still like Gabriel Guerrero a bunch. Other candidates include Chris Bostick, and Nick Williams, though both have received love. (Craig Goldstein)
