2013-02-05 13:00:00 (link to chat)What do you call a sandwich with many types of cold cuts, L, T, Oil and Vinegar? It's a sub, right? Not a hoagie. Nor a wedge. Should have bought a striker. Gerrit Cole is to Jeff Karstens as Shiner Bock is to Bud?
(Name from Place)
Sure, call it a sub or just a sammich. Im not a big fan of Shiner, despite my Texas roots. It doesn't hold a good chill and it gives me a headache if I consume more than three beers, which is often the case. (Jason Parks)
2012-11-01 13:00:00 (link to chat)Question about how the sausage is made: What led to the Productive Outs fascination with Jeff Karstens? What led to the #derp?
(Will from Rochester)
That's mostly Riley, although I appreciate Jeff's .... uhhh... unique visage. We've always glossed #derp, and when you look at Karstens' mug, it just screams DERP. To me, anyway. (Ian Miller)
2011-06-29 13:30:00 (link to chat)You watch the Pirates closely. I know there's been a lot of talk about Charlie Morton's season, but what is Jeff Karstens doing (beyond getting extra help from his defense) that he wasn't doing before to become a competent starting pitcher?
(The Most Interesting Man in the World from Brooklyn)
The thing about Karstens is that he's a smart pitcher. He understands his own strengths and weaknesses as well as his opponents, and really uses that to maximize his talent. That being said, he does need a good defense to win because he doesn't get many strikeouts. (John Perrotto)
