2018-07-16 19:00:00 (link to chat)What do you see Logan Allen’s role in the majors as? He’s got great numbers this year but I haven’t seen a ton of write ups on him.
(Charlie from San jose)
Could be a number two or three starter. He's been lost in the shuffle in that system because of elbow injuries and the insane system depth, but there's a lot of upside there and it's obviously starting to actualize in Double-A this season. (Jarrett Seidler)
2018-05-25 12:15:00 (link to chat)I'm really excited about Logan Allen. Should I be?
(Kevin from Channahon)
Heck yeah. The Padres are so deep that it's easily to get lost in the shuffle over there but Allen is a talented arm who is doing a great job of missing bats as a 21-year-old in Double-A. He needs to rein in the walks a bit before he gets more recognition, but he's got the raw stuff for sure. (Craig Goldstein)
2017-11-17 13:00:00 (link to chat)Is Logan Allen underrated in a deep Padres system?
(Shawn from San Antonio)
I think of that tier of arms (Allen, Lauer, Nix, de los Santos, Lucchesi) he might have the most upside, although I think I said Lucchesi last time I was asked. It's a very deep system (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2017-09-18 23:00:00 (link to chat)Does Logan Allen warrant top 101 consideration?
(Istabil from San Diego)
Don't think he's quite there yet, but he did have himself a very impressive season, particularly after his promotion. Emmett just pegged him as his '18 breakout pick in today's 10 Pack: http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=31984 (Wilson Karaman)
2016-08-10 13:00:00 (link to chat)Logan Allen or Jacob Nix? Allen is healthy now
(Philip from San Diego)
Give me Jacob Nix. I have Allen down as a back end reliever just because there is too much going on with his delivery. The caveat here will be health. Nix needs to demonstrate the ability to stay healthy and regain the stuff that got him drafted. Grant Jones has written about Nix and really likes his potential. (James Fisher)
2016-05-12 13:00:00 (link to chat)What do you think of Fort Wayne's trio: Austin Smith, Jacob Nix, and Logan Allen? Who has the highest ceiling?
(padremurph from Los Angeles)
It's a pretty good trio. The highest ceiling to me is Smith, but Nix and Allen aren't far behind. I like Smith a lot, 65 fastball, above-average curveball and flashes of a pretty good change, too. (Christopher Crawford)
