How Chris Coghlan Updated to Version 2.0

by Alex Putterman

Injuries have kept Chris Coghlan from making much of a mark in the big leagues since his rookie season. When he finally got healthy and picked up by the Cubs prior to last season, he realized his skillset---hitting for average with little pop while playing a corner outfield spot---wasn't highly desirable in the game today. Instead of sticking with what he knew, Coghlan worked hard to change his approach so he could stick in a lineup on a regular basis. At BP Wrigleyville, Alex Putterman chats with Coghlan about how he decided to change his approach and how he actually pulled it off.
