(58-39) Pirates - 6 at 5 - Nationals (48-51)
- Pirates OF Andrew McCutchen hit his 13th and 14th homers.
- Pirates SP Charlie Morton pitched 6 2/3 innings and allowed three runs.
- Nationals SP Dan Haren surrendered five runs in five innings.
- Nationals OF Jayson Werth had a second straight two-homer, knocking in four runs.
(44-53) Cubs - 4 at 2 - Diamondbacks (51-48)
- Diamondbacks SS Didi Gregorius went 3-for-3 with a double and a walk.
- Cubs OF Junior Lake went 4-for-5 and hit his first major league homer.
- Cubs SP Chris Rusin notched a victory after allowing two runs in five innings.
(56-43) Braves - 2 at 1 - Mets (43-52)
- Thanks to a fantastic catch from Jason Heyward, Braves RP Craig Kimbrel picked up his 28th save.
- Mets SP Dillon Gee took a no-hitter into the seventh and ended up pitching seven scoreless innings.
- Mets RP Bobby Parnell took his fourth blown save and fifth loss after allowing two runs -- one earned -- in the ninth.
- Mets 1B Ike Davis went 2-for-4 and drove in the only run.
(44-56) Padres - 5 at 3 - Brewers (41-57)
- Padres SP Andrew Cashner allowed three runs and three hits over six innings.
- Padres 1B Jesus Guzman had a solo homer and a two-run double.
- Brewers OF Logan Schafer walked twice and stole a base against the Padres on Monday.
(36-61) Marlins - 3 at 1 - Rockies (48-52)
- Marlins SP Tom Koehler allowed one run in seven innings and struck out seven.
- Rockies SP Drew Pomeranz dropped to 0-4 after allowing three runs in 4 1/3 innings.
- Marlins 3B Ed Lucas went 2-for-5 and hit his second homer.
(56-43) Reds - 11 at 0 - Giants (45-53)
- Giants SP Tim Lincecum followed up his 148-pitch no-hitter by getting shelled for eight runs in 3 2/3 innings.
- Reds C Devin Mesoraco went 3-for-5 with a home run.
- Reds 3B Todd Frazier doubled twice and knocked in three runs.
- Reds SP Bronson Arroyo went the distance, pitching a seven-hitter complete-game.
(59-41) Rays - 3 at 0 - Red Sox (60-41)
- Rays SP Matt Moore hurled a shutout, allowing just two hits while striking out four in his first career complete game.
- Red Sox SP Brandon Workman gave another solid effort, yielding two runs in six innings in a loss.
(52-47) Yankees - 0 at 3 - Rangers (55-44)
- Rangers SP Yu Darvish allowed two hits over 6 1/3 innings .
- Yankees SP Ivan Nova took a loss after allowing three runs in seven innings.
- Rangers OF Nelson Cruz went 2-for-4 and hit his 23rd homer.
- Yankees DH Travis Hafner went 0-for-2 with a walk and is 0-for-9 so far in the second half.
(57-43) Orioles - 9 at 2 - Royals (45-51)
- Orioles SP Scott Feldman allowed just two runs in eight innings.
- Royals SP Wade Davis lasted just 2 2/3 innings and gave up four runs -- two earned -- in a loss.
- Orioles 1B Chris Davis went 2-for-4 with a two-run double and a sac fly.
(54-44) Tigers - 7 at 3 - White Sox (39-57)
- Tigers SP Max Scherzer recorded his 14th win by allowing two runs in eight innings.
- White Sox SP Chris Sale fanned 11 in eight innings tonight, but he took a loss giving up four runs, two of which were earned.
- Tigers DH Victor Martinez had a four-hit game and drove in three runs.
(42-54) Twins - 4 at 3 - Angels (46-51)
- Twins SP Samuel Deduno picked up the win going 7 innings allowing just two runs.
- Angels SP Joe Blanton was roughed up allowing four runs in just 3.2 innings in the loss.
- Twins OF Clete Thomas hit his 4th homer of the year.
- Twins RP Glen Perkins picked up his 24th save of the year.
(52-47) Indians - 1 at 2 - Mariners (47-52)
- Starting on 11 days' rest, Mariners SP Aaron Harang pitched seven innings of one-run ball.
- Mariners RP Tom Wilhelmsen picked up his third save in four days with a scoreless ninth.
- Mariners C Mike Zunino went 2-for-3 and hit his second big-league homer.
(58-41) Athletics - 4 at 3 - Astros (33-65)
- Athletics OF Josh Reddick hit a two-run homer in the top of the eighth.
- Athletics OF Seth Smith went 0-for-4, leaving him 4-for-38 with no RBI this month.
Inter League:
(51-47) Dodgers - 14 at 5 - Blue Jays (45-53)
- Dodgers C A.J. Ellis had his first career four-hit and five-RBI game.
- Blue Jays SP Josh Johnson was pulled after giving up five runs in two-plus innings.
- Dodgers OF Skip Schumaker's first homer of the season was a three-run shot off All-Star Steve Delabar.

- Brewers OF Ryan Braun has been suspended without pay for the remainder of the season for violations of MLB's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.
- Rockies recalled LHP Drew Pomeranz from Double-A Tulsa.
- Rockies optioned INF Josh Rutledge to Triple-A Colorado Springs.
- Braves placed LHP Paul Maholm on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 21, with a left wrist contusion.
- Mets optioned RHP Greg Burke to Triple-A Las Vegas.
- Mets activated INF Justin Turner from the 15-day disabled list.
- Diamondbacks optioned LHP Eury De La Rosa to Triple-A Reno.

- Braves OF B.J. Upton (groin) ran Monday for the first time since being placed on the disabled list.
- X-rays on Dodgers OF Matt Kemp's left ankle came back negative.
- Mets C Travis d'Arnaud (foot) has been cleared to play in minor league games.
- Pirates 2B Neil Walker (oblique) is scheduled to work out and be evaluated Monday.
- Mets manager Terry Collins said that SP Jenrry Mejia (elbow) is one of three or four pitchers being considered to start in Friday's doubleheader against the Nationals.
- Rockies SP Armando Galarraga suffered a forearm strain while pitching in a game at Triple-A Colorado Springs.
- Marlins SP Andrew Heaney was brilliant once again on Sunday, allowing two hits over six scoreless innings for High-A Jupiter.
- Nationals RP Ryan Mattheus (hand) is shifting his minor league rehab assignment to Triple-A Syracuse.
- Mets 1B Justin Turner (intercostal) will be activated Monday.
- Cubs OF David DeJesus (shoulder) finished 1-for-4 in a rookie league game on Sunday night.
- Cardinals SP Chris Carpenter (shoulder) acknowledged this weekend that he still has a "long way to go."
- Dodgers SP Stephen Fife (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque Monday.
- Padres manager Bud Black revealed Monday that SP Jason Marquis has "significant damage" to the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow.
- Pirates RP Jason Grilli left Monday's save appearance with a sore right forearm.
- Dodgers RP Jose Dominguez left Monday's appearance against the Blue Jays with a quad injury.

- Royals SP Felipe Paulino (elbow, shoulder) threw a 25-pitch live batting practice session Monday.
- Royals 2B Chris Getz (knee) has been cleared for action after going through a workout Monday.
- Athletics OF Yoenis Cespedes (wrist) will take batting practice on Tuesday.
- Oakland Athletics top prospect SS Addison Russell has been sidelined since July 17 with a bruised right thumb.
- Yankees C Austin Romine has been unavailable to play lately due to a stiff neck.

- Mets SP Matt Harvey will start Game 2 of the Mets' doubleheader with the Nationals on Friday.
- Padres SP Sean O'Sullivan will start on Wednesday in Milwaukee.
- The Diamondbacks plan to use Brad Ziegler in the closer role for the time being.
- The Marlins will call up OF Christian Yelich and Jake Marisnick prior to Tuesday's game.
- Giants SP Eric Surkamp will be recalled to start one of the games of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Reds.

- According to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports, Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez "declined to answer the questions of MLB investigators when they interviewed him" about the Biogenesis clinic.
