  • Pirates C Russell Martin launched a game-tying two-run homer.

  • Pirates SP A.J. Burnett held the Cardinals to two runs over six innings.

  • Cardinals SP Jake Westbrook tossed six scoreless innings but was left with a no-decision.

  • Pirates RP Jason Grilli picked up his 10th save of the year.

Brewers - 6 at 4 - Dodgers
  • Brewers OF Carlos Gomez went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer.

  • Brewers SP Wily Peralta allowed three runs in six innings.

  • Brewers RP John Axford experienced a little setback, giving up a solo homer to Andre Ethier in the eighth inning.

  • Dodgers SP Matt Magill surrendered two runs over 6 2/3 innings in his major league debut.

  • After being held out of the starting lineup, Dodgers 1B Adrian Gonzalez went 0-for-2 off the bench.

  • Dodgers 3B Luis Cruz went 0-for-4 with an RBI groundout.

Reds - 3 at 6 - Nationals
  • Nationals SP Dan Haren delivered his best start of the season, allowing two runs in six innings.

  • Reds SP Mike Leake yielded three runs in three innings.

  • Nationals OF Bryce Harper went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and two runs scored.

  • Reds 2B Brandon Phillips went 3-for-4 with an RBI single.

  • Reds OF Shin-Soo Choo hit is 4th homer of the year.

  • Nationals RP Rafael Soriano nothced his 7th save of the season.

Phillies - 9 at 4 - Mets
  • Phillies OF Domonic Brown went 2-for-5 with a three-run homer his 3rd, while OF John Mayberry, Jr. hit his 2nd homer of the season.

  • Phillies SP Jonathan Pettibone earned his first major league win by allowing three runs over five innings.

  • Mets SP Shaun Marcum yielded three runs in four innings in his season debut.

  • Mets 3B David Wright went 2-for-4 with an RBI double and a run scored.

  • Mets C John Buck launched his 8th homer of the year.

Cubs - 3 at 2 - Marlins

  • Cubs RP Kevin Gregg tallied his third save of the season.

  • Marlins OF Giancarlo Stanton slugged his first home run of the season.

  • Cubs SP Travis Wood allowed two earned runs over six innings to earn his second victory.

  • Marlins SP Alex Sanabia yielded three earned runs in 6 2/3 innings.

  • Marlins C Miguel Olivo hit his 2nd homer of the campaign.

Rockies - 2 at 3 - Diamondbacks
  • Diamondbacks OF Cody Ross hit a walkoff sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 10th inning.

  • Diamondbacks OF A.J. Pollock hit his 3rd dinger of the year.

  • Rockies C Wilin Rosario launched his 6th home run of the season.

  • Diamondbacks SP Wade Miley tossed 4 1/3 scoreless innings.

  • Rockies SP Jeff Francis gave up two earned runs in five innings in a no-decision.

  • Diamondbacks RP J.J. Putz picked up his 2nd win of the year in relief with a scoreless 9th.

Giants - 7 at 8 - Padres (12 Innings)
  • Yonder Alonso scored the winning run on a Marco Scutaro error to win the game in 12 innings.

  • Padres SP Eric Stults lasted only four innings and gave up five runs in a no-decision.

  • Giants SP Barry Zito was charged with six runs -- one earned -- in 3 2/3 innings.

  • Giants SS Brandon Crawford hit his 5th homer of the year.

American League:

Orioles - 7 at 3 - Athletics

Indians - 2 at 3 - Royals 
  • Royals C Salvador Perez hit a two-run homer, his 1st of the season.

  • Royals RP Greg Holland got into trouble in the ninth inning, but escaped with his sixth save of the season.

  • Royals SP Ervin Santana was dominant, allowing only six hits in seven scoreless innings.

  • Indians 2B Jason Kipnis started to break out of his funk tallying two hits in five at-bats.

  • Indians SP Scott Kazmir pitched well in a losing effort, surrendering just two runs on five hits over his five frames.

Astros - 4 at 8 - Red Sox
  • Red Sox DH David Ortiz continued his hot hitting, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

  • Red Sox SP Felix Doubront picked up his third straight victory after allowing three runs on four hits and four walks over 6 2/3 innings of work.

  • Astros SS Marwin Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with a double and a stolen base.

  • Astros SP Brad Peacock turned in another disappointing performance, allowing five earned runs on six hits over just 3 1/3 innings.

Blue Jays - 4 at 5 - Yankees
  • Yankees RP Joba Chamberlain tallied his first save of the season.

  • Yankees SP CC Sabathia allowed four runs -- three earned -- over eight innings.

  • Yankees DH Travis Hafner homered and tripled.

  • Blue Jays SP J.A. Happ surrendered three earned runs over six innings.

  • Blue Jays OF Jose Bautista and 3B Brett Lawrie both homered, their 7th and 2nd respectively.

Rays - 10 at 4 - White Sox 

  • Rays SP Matt Moore tossed six innings of one-run ball to pick up his 5th win of th season in five tries.

  • White Sox DH Adam Dunn hit his fifth home run of the season.

  • White Sox SP Gavin Floyd left his start early after giving up two earned run in 2.2 innings.

  • Rays OF Desmond Jennings hit his 3rd homerun of the season while 2B Ben Zobrist hit his 2nd.

Rangers - 2 at 7 - Twins
Angels - 2 at 3 - Mariners
  • Mariners SP Felix Hernandez pitched eight innings and allowed two runs -- one earned.

  • Angels SP Joe Blanton fell to 0-4 after giving up three runs in six innings.

  • Mariners C Jesus Montero went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, his 2nd of the year.

  • Mariners RP Tom Wilhelmsen picked up his 7th save of the season.

  • Angels C Chris Iannetta hit his 3rd homer of the season.

Inter League:
 
Braves - 4 at 7 - Tigers
  • Tigers 2B Omar Infante went 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and two runs.

  • Tigers RP Jose Valverde tossed a perfect ninth inning for his second save.

  • Tigers SP Rick Porcello notched his first win of the season by allowing three runs over 6 1/3 innings.

  • Braves SP Kris Medlen fell to 1-3 on the year after he was tagged for five runs in 5 1/3 innings.

  • Braves OF Justin Upton launched his MLB-leading 12th homer.

Player Transactions:

National League:

  • Dodgers recalled RHP Matthew Magill from Triple-A Albuquerque.

  • Dodgers placed RHP Stephen Fife on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder bursitis.

  • Mets optioned LHP Josh Edgin to Double-A Binghamton.

  • Rockies are expected to promote 3B Prospect Nolan Arenado Sunday. 3B Chris Nelson is expected to be designated for assignment.

American League:

  • Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports that Red Sox C Ryan Lavarnway will be sent back to Triple-A Pawtucket when John Lackey is activated from the disabled list on Sunday.

  • White Sox RP Deunte Heath will be promoted from Triple-A on Sunday.

  • White Sox manager Robin Ventura confirmed after Saturday's game that SP Gavin Floyd will be placed on the disabled list with a flexor muscle strain in his right elbow.

  • Red Sox SP Alfredo Aceves has reported to Triple-A Pawtucket.

  • Blue Jays purchased the contract of RHP Justin Germano from Triple-A Las Vegas.

  • Yankees placed RHP Ivan Nova on the 15-day disabled list with right triceps inflammation.

  • Yankees transferred SS Derek Jeter from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

  • Orioles released RHP Scott Proctor.

  • Yankees purchased the contract of LHP Vidal Nuno from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

  • Yankees recalled C Austin Romine from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

  • Yankees placed C Francisco Cervelli on the 15-day disabled list with a fractured right hand.

  • Orioles signed OF Delvi Cid to a minor league contract.

  • The Yankees are expected to call up LHP Vidal Nuno from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

  • Orioles SP Jake Arrieta threw six scoreless innings in his start Friday with Triple-A Norfolk.

Injury Updates:

National League:

  • Dodgers 1B Adrian Gonzalez was sent to a local hospital on Saturday due to a small skin infection in his right leg.

  • Brewers RP Chris Narveson played catch on Saturday afternoon for the first time since spraining his left middle finger during a bullpen session on April 6.

  • Giants RP Jeremy Affeldt (oblique) felt strong after throwing his first bullpen session on Saturday.

  • Rockies SP Jhoulys Chacin (back) threw a successful bullpen session on Saturday and remains on track to return to the Rockies' starting rotation on May 5.

  • Dodgers RP Chris Capuano (calf) threw a bullpen session and a 34-pitch simulated game on Saturday.

  • Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said Saturday that OF Jason Kubel (quadriceps) will play minor league rehab games on Monday and Tuesday at Triple-A Reno.

  • Diamondbacks SS Didi Gregorius (head) told reporters on Saturday afternoon that his CT scan looked good.

  • Marlins SS Adeiny Hechavarria (elbow) is expected to begin a rehab assignment Monday with High-A Jupiter.

  • Mets RP Tim Byrdak (shoulder) could be cleared for a bullpen session next week.

  • The Cardinals are willing to extend the May 1 deadline for determining if RP Jason Motte (elbow) will need to undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery.

  • Mets RP Frank Francisco (elbow) will resume his minor league rehab assignment with High-A St. Lucie next week.

  • Nationals 3B Ryan Zimmerman (hamstring) has been cleared to start a rehab assignment Monday.

  • Padres SP Joe Wieland (elbow) threw a bullpen session Friday at the Padres' spring training complex.

  • J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News writes that "there's still no timetable" for Dodgers SP Zack Greinke (collarbone) to resume throwing off a mound.

  • Nationals C Wilson Ramos (hamstring) went 0-for-1 with a walk in the first game of his rehab assignment Friday at Double-A Harrisburg.

American League:
  • Rays C Jose Molina is considered day-to-day after being diagnosed with a right quad contusion.

  • Blue Jays SP Ricky Romero fared well in his first start with High-A Dunedin, allowing just one run on five hits over seven innings.

  • Orioles C Taylor Teagarden expects to miss the next 3-4 weeks with a dislocated left thumb.

  • Angels SS Erick Aybar (heel) will play at least one more extended spring training game in Arizona on Sunday before he returns from the 15-day disabled list.

  • Red Sox RP Joel Hanrahan (hamstring) will make another rehab appearance with Triple-A Pawtucket on Sunday.

  • Indians OF Michael Bourn (finger) took dry swings Saturday.

  • Red Sox RP Franklin Morales has been diagnosed with a pectoral strain.

  • Orioles 2B Brian Roberts (knee) has been cleared for light running exercises.

  • Tigers RP Phil Coke is day-to-day with a left groin strain.

  • Blue Jays SP Josh Johnson (triceps) said Friday that an MRI confirmed he isn't dealing with any structural damage.

  • Mariners OF Michael Saunders (shoulder) served as the designated hitter in his first rehab appearance Friday at Triple-A Tacoma.

  • White Sox SP Hector Santiago is taking over Gavin Floyd's spot in the White Sox starting rotation.
