Surely the PIT-STL summary might have included the fact that Joe Kelly managed to give away the two-run lead Jake Westbrook had handed him within the first five pitches he threw, the fifth of which became the HR by Russell Martin. The St. Louis bullpen's performance so far this year has been like the little girl with the little curl. The horrid days are getting very horrid indeed, more frequent, and distributed among some guys who were anywhere from average to brilliant in last year's pen. What's going on there?

Ya it really is a mess without Motte this season. As I noted in the injury section the Cardinals are willing to extend the May 1 deadline for determining if Motte will need to undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery. Their holding out hope that he won't because they know how badly they need him to boost and lengthen the pen. Mujica has done a solid job in the closer role so far but he's best served as a setup man.

As we've seen already this season with Rafael Furcal and Chad Billinsley, who both went with the rehab route instead of opting for tommy john surgery, it's probably best just to go ahead and have tommy john as both ended up re-injuring themselves to the point where the surgery was required costing them all of this season and probably some of next.

Kemp was on 2B, GB to Gonzalez at SS, bad throw results in error so Kemp goes home to score R. Please tell me how this was charged to Peralta? I watched this live, do they review these plays? 6 IP 2 ER is a 3.00 compared to the 3ER in 6 IP

Holland had 2 unearned runs, so the "trouble" seems a little harsh. I only me goin it bc not only of the Herrara hype, but Herrara as closer could equal Jansen imo
