The former fifth overall pick has revived his career somewhat after missing a large amount of time due to injury. Better health and conditioning has led to better results, and Hobgood looks much better now than he did in the past. While he is a reliever all the way, his arsenal consists of two potential plus-plus offerings that could easily work in the back end of a major league bullpen if he can tighten up the command. I have not seen the change up at all, which he used to throw as a starter.
