Severino González

Born: 09/28/1992 (Age: 21)
Bats: Right Throws: Right
Height: 6' 2" Weight: 155
Body is still immature but slowly starting to fill out; needs to manage how he fills out; good arm strength; slinger with effort; slot inconsistency; lower 3/4 to standard 3/4; big back bend; chest high frontside; falls off to 1B-side in follow-through; doesn't always look pretty but he repeats delivery; 1.26 to the plate with runners on base; can hold stuff deep into games; athletic and is capable of fielding position; works fast in between pitches.

Pitch Type Future Grade Sitting Velocity Peak Velocity Report
FB 55 89-91 92 Fastball worked 89-90 most of the start; bumped 91-92 in bursts; could sit a little higher with added strength; conceivable to work 92; showed feel for movement manipulation; some natural cut; could run it; can dive it; command is fringe-average at present; good feel for control; works in the zone; close to a three-way pitch but lacks big punch; effective table-setter; can throw a strike when he needs to; could get to solid-average (or slightly above)
CH 55 83-86 86 Alters slot on the pitch; arm speed remains consistent; good deception; too firm at 86 but showed good diving action at 83/84; used effectively against both LH and RH; most likely to play as an average offering but not a weapon pitch.
SL 50 82-84 84 Short, cutter-like break; lacked tilt or much depth; flashed a few average ones in the strikezone; not a wipeout offering; some potential to miss barrels but not a bat misser; can't miss with this pitch against better bats.
CB 50 75-77 78 Can struggle to stay over the ball and create big snap; showed ability to drop pitch for a strike; can break too early/too long; could be good sight-line/change-of-pace pitch but not a major league quality weapon; maybe he can take the pitch to average, but several things working against its utility (arm slot consistency/size of break)

Quality arm with some pitchability; left wondering how the outs will come at the highest level; fastball is effective in the fringe-velocity range; shows three-way potential with movement and strike-throwing ability; command isn't sharp; can't survive loose in the zone against better bats; shows two usable breaking balls; average at best; chanegup was my favorite secondary; some arm speed deception and diving action; could play solid-average or slightly better; some projection remaining, so arsenal could tick up slightly; command profile will be everything; average is likely; plus is highly unlikely but possible given overall feel and athleticism in delivery; fringe profile in a rotation; swing potential.
