Hit	60	Balanced, quiet swing geared for hard line drives. Hands start high with a slight toe tap for timing, above average bat speed, shows a knack for hard contact to all fields. Excellent plate discipline, recognizes spin well and rarely expands the zone.
Power	45	Lacks the frame and physical strength to generate power but the swing produces hard contact and some sneaky pop; Mostly gap to gap doubles, but will attack in hitters counts and pull it out of the park. Future fringe average power for a middle infielder.
Baserunning/Speed	50	Average raw speed but is an aggressive, smart baserunner; Will not rack up huge stolen base numbers but chooses his spots well and is capable at swiping the occasional bag.
Glove	50	Solid hands and good instincts help to make up for average range; He's not flashy but will be able to handle short at the big league level.

Drafted 32nd overall in 2020, Loftin lacks loud tools but makes up for it with his solid overall game. His contact ability and defensive versatility give him a high floor of a utility role player. However, it's not difficult to envision a scenario where the hit tool develops enough to become a top of the order impact bat.
