Tool Future Grade Report
Hit 55 By far the highest-variance tool in the profile, and the one that will determine the trajectory of his career. Has at times exhibited the barrel control necessary to square up pitches on both halves and can use the whole field when so inclined. Has bouts of inconsistency though; swing can become grooved and power-centric and he sometimes struggles to pick up spin. Hand movement isn't always efficient so with mechanical refinement he could get more out of his natural hand-eye coordination.
Power 55 Very good bat speed and significant lower half strength create more power than might generally be expected from someone with his frame. I don't see as much physical projection as some others, so for me that slightly hampers this future grade.
Baserunning/Speed 60 Plus at present, obviously could go down a tick as he ages and body evolves. Aware and opportunistic on the bases, has some steals and will take the extra bag.
Glove 60 I may be the high person here, but I think he has a very good chance to stick at short. Has a really good first step and excellent upper body actions that allow him to make a wide variety of plays look simple. Has a quick transfer and slick tag, lower body movements not always quite as smooth. Proficient coming and and moving laterally. Shows good awareness and energy.
Arm 60 Am I being slightly generous here? On pure strength maybe, but he really uses this tool well. He makes throws from every angle necessary, whether it's overhand from the deep hole or sidearm after coming in on a ball.

Could be a star shortstop with these tools, could also be an up-and-down 3B/COF with swing-and-miss issues. Could be worse if everything collapses. He's a 20-year-old who has been decent in High-A, so I tend to see an at least an above-average starter here, but there is a lot of variance.
