Curtis Terry

Born: 10/06/1996 (Age: 23)
Bats: Right Throws: Right
Height: 6' 2" Weight: 258
Primary Position: 1B
Secondary Position: DH
Physical/Health
Maybe a shade under list height of 6'3" and 10 lbs heavier than his list weight. Huge build with both thick strong muscle and quite a bit of extra weight.

Fair athlete with good body control, but limited quick twitch and range of motion. Concerning body is on the border of out of control and it creates risk that he'll lose his athleticism. Some positive markers if he can reign it in.

Tool Future Grade Report
Hit 45 Short path to the ball with good feel for barrel. Premium barrel velocity after some wind up. Surprisingly athletic swing. Aggressive hit first approach, but is willing to be patient when he recognizes pitch. Currently struggles with above average breaking/offspeed.
Power 55 Double-plus raw power, makes consistently loud contact. Swing plane is fairly level and generates hard line drives. Limited by contact.
Baserunning/Speed 20 True 20 runner. Awkward motions after relatively quick acceleration.
Glove 45 Good hands and feel for the position. Makes plays in his vicinity and makes the hard picks look routine. Range limited side to side and on plays where he needs to come in.
Arm 45 Fringe-average arm strength and shows ability to get into good throwing positions.
Overall

Curtis Terry has some interesting athletic markers and significant raw power that should see him become good Triple-A depth at the 1B position. Terry has good coordination and feel for hit, but body currently limits his explosiveness.

He isn't overaggressive, but his current problems with pitch recognition could limit his effectiveness to the point where he won't get a shot in the MLB. If he's able to get his body leaned out to increase flexibility and explosiveness while improving his pitch recognition, he could see a role as a fringe regular in the MLB.
