Tool Future Grade Report
Hit 45 Bat lies horizontally behind head at set-up. Even stance with knees slightly bent. Swing features length and above-average bat speed. Shows ability to square up upper-90s heat. Struggles with barrel control and picking up off-speed spin, especially against same-handed pitching. Lower half slightly off sync. Hit tool could play solid-average in the future. Deploys a patient approach and tends to take plate appearances into deep counts, though attacks on the first pitch when it's in his wheelhouse.
Power 55 Shows plus to double-plus raw. 7.22 hang time on a infield pop-up. Ball jumps off the bat when he barrels it. It will likely to play down due to hit tool concerns, but could be enough for the strong side of a platoon.
Baserunning/Speed 50 Wasn't able to get a reliable home-to-first time, but moved well on the basepaths with long strides. Likely to maintain mobility into his 20s.
Glove 55 Above-average corner defender with decent jumps and routes. Looked passable in one game in center field.
Arm 60 Arm strength is sufficient for right field. Certainly will play in the other two outfield positions. Accuracy is there as well.
Overall

As a 20-year-old in High-A, the Chicago native didn't look completely over-matched at the plate. The collection of speed, glove, and arm is enough to make him a future platoon/fourth outfielder who mostly plays corners while occasionally patrolling center field. Hit tool has a long way to go, and while the odds are slim, a major overhaul could bump him up to a starting profile.
