Tool Future Grade Report
Hit 55 Even stance, moderate leg kick, hands behind head, bat horizontal. Short, linear bat path with above-average bat speed. Demonstrates an advanced feel for the barrel and the ability to catch up to upper-90s velocity. High groundball tendency. Struggles to recognize above-average spin at times. Knows the strike zone and shows an advanced approach, but jumps on the first pitch when it's in his wheelhouse.
Power 40 Showed some gap power in my looks, but not much over-the-fence. Could play below-average in the future with a change in approach.
Baserunning/Speed 55 4.32 home-to-first on a dig. Likely to maintain the speed into his twenties. Shows fluid baserunning abilities, but gets too aggressive and runs into dumb mistakes on occasion. Will ultimately grow into an above-average runner overall in the future.
Glove 55 Plays all four infield positions. Looks uncomfortable at first base and lacks fundamental knowledge of the position at present. Enough athleticism and speed to handle up-the-middle and be a plus defender at the hot corner.
Arm 60 Sufficient arm strength and accuracy for the left side of the infield.
Overall

Rosario profiles to be a solid first-division utility infielder or a second-division regular in the future, and is smart enough to make the most out of his collection of average skills. The odds are long, but if the aforementioned below-average game power comes along, he could even be a first-division regular who plays three infield positions depends on the day's needs. Rule 5-eligible after 2019, he could be added to the 40-man this winter or selected by another organization. Despite recently turning 20, he could be in the big leagues next year, in which case he won't struggle to crack the Richie Martin line if given semi-regular playing time.
