WELCOME
It's been nearly a decade since Baseball Prospectus first published an article on our Web site, and in the intervening years, we've produced nearly 4,000 pieces--many insightful, some humorous, and some clunkers. Much of what we have written has an immediacy and applicability only to the time in which it first appeared, such as speculations about the outcome of a playoff series, or commentary on a specific game.

There are other pieces, though, that contain research or analysis of a more durable nature. These are pieces that are cited over and over again, that contain studies of particular topics which contain findings applicable to any season or players, or that explained complicated concepts particularly well.

With the invaluable help of Dave Metz, Chaim Bloom, and Ben Murphy, we've sifted through our own archives and selected articles that we consider to have particularly lasting value as a standalone piece of research. We've categorized them for easy browsing, and are making them available as part of the Baseball Prospectus Research Library (http://www.baseballprospectus.com/library)

Looking for articles about baseball economics? Check under the "Economics, Labor & Law" category. Looking for the research behind Pitcher Abuse Points? There it is under Pitching. Park Effects? Forecasting performance? In-game Strategies? Catcher defense? They're all in there.

In all, we've selected 326 articles that highlight some of the best baseball research of the past decade. But if we missed one that you think should be included, please let us know. Or if you have suggestions on the organization and usability of the library, we'd like to know that as well.

In the meantime, we'll be updating the Research Library going forward with new Baseball Prospectus articles, as we continue to entertain, educate, and infuriate our readers.
