If you have questions or concerns about using the PFM, please first refer to the help documents available, and if those do not answer your questions, please email Customer Service and we will be happy to assist you. Thanks for using the PFM!
Thought I would toss my two cents in: the PFM is looking awfully snazzy. There are a couple of players that don't seem to show up that would be useful for keeper-league purposes; I've noticed Moustakas and Mejia. It doesn't change much, since they're practically useless for 2011 anyway, but for tidiness' sake when I'm checking off every kept player, it'd be nice to have them around since it would change the number of league-wide filled roster spots.
Thanks for the kudos. The players that show up depend on your settings, and as you said, many players who are unlikely to make an impact in 2011 are unlikely to show up under typical settings and options. I do understand the need to properly log all keepers to get accurate output, so I will add this to the feature request list.
We have heard that many users have eligibility requirements that are more specific than simply AL/NL/MLB, so we are working to prioritize that feature request appropriately.
I would put in a humble request for K:BB ratio for hitters.
I realize I can use the independent categories of "SO" and "BB", but the valuation for a single K:BB stat would still be slightly different, I believe...
Wainwright seems to show up for me under every typical setup I have entered, so he's definitely there in the data. If you think you found a problem or continue to to notice the issue, please email Customer Service. Thanks!
1. How does one use this custom player pool?
2. Can I download the output of the PFM into a sortable spreadsheet? Currently I just get the spreadsheet but I can't sort by position or stats.
3. Is there a way to add ADP to the spreadsheet for those of us not in auction leagues?
Positional adjustment is the primary reason why that would happen. A shallow position will have dollar values increased despite lower points. The positional adjustment is customized to your league's settings for roster size and number of teams to ensure that enough players are listed over the minimum salary.
1) Can you give us a sense of when the depth charts will next be updated and how often they will be updated after that? Hardball Times, for example, updates the THT Forecasts each Monday.
2) Can you explain why there are significant discrepancies between the PECOTA projections on the website and in the book. For the Mets and Rays, for example, the discrepancies for individual players are significant.
Ugh, I just don't get it. BP people have responded to other customers' questions since I posted my initial question, so they are clearly ignoring it. I am addressing the wrong people? Is it is dumb question? Top secret? What? Other customers have indicated they too would like to know your update schedule.
If you'll recall there was a new update, like, everyday last year because of wonky data. Once that was fixed there was a weekly update. Should we expect the same, or something different this year?
Sorry for the delay in responding. Several of us are involved in this process and I wanted to make sure everything I present below is accurate.
1) Marc Normandin is overseeing the process of our depth charts updates, which will occur regularly over the course of March. We plan to make updates at least once a week, but perhaps more often, on a case by case and team by team basis, as news comes out and changes are warranted. We will be monitoring the comments sections of the depth charts pages for your input and feedback for each team.
2) The projections on the website are adjusted for expected playing time (from the Depth Charts) and also the ramifications of that playing time distribution. The projections in the book were not adjusted for expected playing time. The differences are caused by a process that we have setup to ensure that the projections that we use on the website for the PFM and Depth Charts has the run environments balanced against each other as the changes in playing time impact the run environment.
We hope that the end result of these two things is that the regular updates to expected playing time in the Depth Charts will manifest in the most accurate projections available within the PFM and around the fantasy products.
Also, can you add OUTS for hitters. In CBS I created this stat for our league just using AB - H. I could probably do same thing here but it would be easier if you had it. Trying to create an OBP component to our points league. Thanks!
I asked them this through Bat Signal and they said the projections do update throughout the season (although I'm not sure how frequently), but that since PECOTA is so heavily based on players' past performance (in prior years), the changes tend to be smaller than changes you might see in other ROS projections.

Anywho, keep it up, guys.
