Welcome to Baseball Prospectus' Wednesday March 19, 2014 8:00 PM ET chat session with Bret Sayre.

Ask BP's fantasy manager about the upcoming season.

Bret Sayre: Alright everyone, I've stopped watching Yordano Ventura and Javier Baez highlights long enough to sit in one place for a little while. So what kinds of questions do you have for me on this Wednesday evening?

Vic (Baltimore): Brad Miller? I want to believe he could be a 20/20 shortstop not unlike Ian Desmond. Too soon? or never?

Bret Sayre: My money would be on never, but he should still be a solid fantasy option regardless.

Chris (Dallas): Hey Bret, are you still optimistic about Ike Davis? I may have the chance to get him and Derek Holland for Marlon Byrd and Alex Guerrero. Not sure how much hope to have for Ike. Thoughts?

Bret Sayre: Yes I am. And that's definitely a deal I would make.

50 Shades of Greinke (IL): Does Zimmer have more upside than Appel?

Bret Sayre: It's very close, but I'd say yes.

doog7642 (Blaine, MN): What were the most notable inconsistencies between your Dynasty 500 list and the order the picks went down in the #TDGX draft? Are there any of your own rankings that you rethought after going through the process?

Bret Sayre: Sure. People realllllllly don't like Jesus Montero or Edwin Jackson, but I'm happy to snatch both of them up awfully late just like I did in TDGX.

navarra (Ukraine): Hello, Bret! Thanks for your work. What do you think about trade Kemp for Belt straight up? 15-keepers points league with daily match-ups. Team with Kemp is rebuilding, but commishes want to veto that trade, because they think that Kemp is worth too much.

Bret Sayre: I wouldn't veto it (honestly, I wouldn't veto anything), but I'd definitely want the Kemp side there. Belt is good, but he's eminently replaceable.

DB (Pittsburgh): NL dynasty leagues.... Name 1 catcher and future closer who will start in minors with big upside

Bret Sayre: Jorge Alfaro and Jake Barrett.

Thomas (New York): Who do you think will be the better player? Frazier or Meadows.

Bret Sayre: Please. (it's Frazier)

Kurt (Tacoma): Hi Bret, besides Joe Mauer -- who is ending up on your team a lot this season? cheers, k

Bret Sayre: Alex Gordon always winds up on a bunch of my teams. Same with Albert Pujols. Then in the later rounds, Martin Perez, Dustin Ackley and Derek Norris (where applicable).

Brett G. (KC): Hey Bret, I'm tempted to trade my best keeper (Carlos Santana at $9) for a package of Tommy Hunter ($1), George Springer ($5) and Carlos Correa ($2) in an AL Only dynasty league. Smart?

Bret Sayre: Not if you want to win.

Dservi4 (Maryland): Can Eric Hosmer be a top 20 player in the next 2-4 years?

Bret Sayre: He could be a top-20 player THIS year. I'm not projecting it, but there's certainly a route to it that's not difficult to imagine.

Spencer (London Ontario): Hi Bret, Tyler Skaggs gets a lot of ink as an AL SP sleeper. Who else do you think could surprise people out of John Danks, Carrasco, Straily, Keuchel, Hutchinson, etc.? thanks!

Bret Sayre: Does Straily count as a sleeper? I think he's very underrated and would make for a very strong pick in AL-only formats.

Marshall (Canada ): Sonny Gray or Yordano Ventura?

Bret Sayre: Gray. I love Ventura, but let's not go bonkers yet.

Rob (Raritan, nj): Speaking of Baez when will he get called up and what type #s will he put up?

Bret Sayre: He'll get called up on June 21st and hit .262 with 14 homers and 9 steals the rest of the way.

Mark (Denver): Are you as high on Raimel Tapia as Jason?

Bret Sayre: Well, I nearly put him in the top 50 of my Fantasy 101, so I'd say yes. Huge upside.

joseph (Illinois): What do you see as Avisail Garcia's ceiling and do you think he has a legitimate shot at reaching it?

Bret Sayre: His ceiling is a 20-20 producer with a reasonably good batting average, and I don't think he ever gets there.

Mike (Utica, NY): Trout says he is going to be more aggressive hitting, what do you see from him this year?

Bret Sayre: Pure sex.

Mike (Chicago): Drop LaTroy Hawkins for any of O'Day, Qualls, Fields, or Scheppers?

Bret Sayre: I'd hold off until we know for sure that Hawkins isn't the closer. None of those Houston guys interest me much, since I think it's Crain's job when his shoulder wakes up.

pobothecat (outside): Any read on who'd close in Toronto if Janssen can't go? Some sources say Santos, others Delabar. You?

Bret Sayre: Santos. He's got really nasty stuff and he's good to go.

MRubio52 (Whole Foods): Where do you rank gluten free lasagna?

Bret Sayre: Definitely behind beds, but waaaaay ahead of a two-car garage. I'd probably spend a fourth rounder on it and feel good.

mattstupp (NYC): Let's assume that Dylan Bundy's recovery goes perfectly. What do the Orioles do with him this year? How many starts does he get?

Bret Sayre: Zero starts, and he ends up as a very strong reliever in the second half, possibly closing games unless Tommy Hunter can perfect a high-wire act against lefties.

xavier (texas): Billy Butler - bounceback candidate or was last year the start of his decline?

Bret Sayre: Bounceback candidate, though I don't think we'll see power like 2012 again. But he can hit .300 with 20 homers again--and with that Royals' lineup, it should be good for a slew of RBI.

rpolan (New Orleans): Thoughts on Alex Wood? Will he be fantasy relevant in a 12-team league? League starts 9 Ps.

Bret Sayre: I think he's going to be consistently underrated because of the knocks against his delivery (which Craig Goldstein put perfectly today when he said it looked like it fell out of an ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down). But until he actually breaks down, I expect a strong ERA and about 160 strikeouts (projected out over a full 200 inning season).

ravenight (Beantown): I rarely see any talk about the potential value of undrafted players and how that plays into pre-draft valuations. As a quick example, you can't establish the value of HRs in a 10 team league with 10 hitters per team by simply adding up the weighted mean projected HRs of the top 100 hitters, because performance at the bottom of the scale will come from whoever does best from the tail end plus the undrafted guys. How do you account for this?

Bret Sayre: Don't focus on the top-100 players, focus on the previous performance by teams in that category in your league. There will always be undrafted players who crash leaderboards.

Alex (Anaheim): Do you expect Stephen Drew to find a home soon?

Bret Sayre: I really hope so, it's a bummer passing him on my way to work in the morning.

balticwolf (Silver Spring MD): Who is going to be the better replacement starter (so far, more injuries sure to come): Jesse Chavez Oakland or Robbie Ross Texas?

Bret Sayre: Chavez. He's got legitimate starter stuff and has a way better environment in which to operate.

conjoinedtwins (Toronto): I'm trying to rank these final AL Only keepers. How would you rank them? John Danks ($1), Straily ($7), Ventura ($8), Ubaldo ($5)... thanks!

Bret Sayre: I'd go Straily, Ventura, Ubaldo, Danks. Want to believe in Danks, but I'm cautious.

Busey (Ohio): Pick one duo for this year. Next 5 years? Samardzija/Gerrit Cole or Hamels/Minor

Bret Sayre: I'd take Samardzija/Cole for the next 5 and it's a toss up for this year depending on your taste for injured pitchers.

Daniel (TX): Eddie Butler or Rafael Montero for 2014? and then for future?

Bret Sayre: I'd take Butler for both. Montero has a better park, but Butler's stuff is a notch above.

Kevin (PENN): Who would you choose for both short and long term, Gray or Appel? and how good is Clint Fraizer going to be?

Bret Sayre: Gray for both over Appel, but it's close. In some ways it's just a matter of risk preference. And as far as Clint Frazier, he's going to be somewhere between a demigod and a unicorn.

johnpark99 (Chicago): Hi Bret: I'm heading into a 4x4 auction keeper league for the first time, after having done 5x5 auction keeper for a long time. Any general thoughts on the differences between 4x4 and 5x5 with regards to ideal strategy? On the surface, I'm thinking the 1-category guys (speedsters and closers) become more valuable in 4x4 b/c those categories have a greater weighting in the overall standings. But then again, the other categories similarly get bumped up in importance as well--and in the case of a speed-only hitter who only contributes SB's, does that guy help me enough in SB's to offset his drag in the other categories? Just brainstorming here. Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Bret Sayre: You're correct, they do jump up in value. It's the same three category drag as in a 5x5, it's just getting you closer to a title. I tend to stay away from speed-only guys anyway as rule of thumb, unless they're being undervalued.

Jeff (Dade): Hey Bret, what are your feelings on Moustakas and Arenado this year? Also, will they ever be a top 5 fantasy third baseman?

Bret Sayre: I think they're both going to be players that feel better to draft than to own. I'm more bullish on Arenado because he makes better contact, but I don't see either of them as top-5 third basemen any time soon.

rpolan (New Orleans): Thoughts on Dominic Brown? In a keeper 5 x 5, would you trade him straight up for any one of the 3- Wacha, Cole or Cobb. Prices are the same.

Bret Sayre: I'd deal Dominic Brown for Cole in a second. Seriously, I'll stop the chat while you go do that.

Box sox (Bronx): Best upside. Odor - Texas. Seagar- LA. Or Frazier- Cle. Tku

Bret Sayre: Frazier, no doubt. Monster upside.

Shawnykid23 (CT): Who do you like best both short-term and long-term of Martin Perez, Wily Peralta, and Tyler Skaggs?

Bret Sayre: I like all three long-term, but I'd rank them Skaggs, Perez, Peralta.

Baltimore Jim (MD): Do we get Gausman in some form this year? I'd love to see him close. I'm not buying T.Hunter.

Bret Sayre: I'd love to see him start. I'm not buying Bud Norris. I think he gets into the rotation sooner rather than later and proves he belongs.

Steve Irwin (Australia): Blimey, what are you blokes doing bringing baseball to the land down under?

Bret Sayre: You have Vin Scully inside you right now. Do you need anything else?

BR (NYC): Khris' numbers?

Bret Sayre: .248 average with 23 homers.

JoJo (SD): Keep which 2 in 5x5 10-team h2h with OPS instead of AVG: Votto, Prince, Stanton, Beltre? Only 2. Thanks.

Bret Sayre: Votto and Stanton.

Jim (St Louis): Stephen Piscotty appears to have impressed the Cardinals this spring. How can the Cardinals find room for both Taveras and Piscotty on the major league roster?

Bret Sayre: They probably don't have room for either. That's how incredibly stacked that organization is. I blame Mort.

Matt (Indianapolis): Still trying to figure out who the better speculative add is.. Taylor Jordan or Tanner Roark for the 5th spot in National's bullpen. Thanks.

Bret Sayre: For me it's Taylor Jordan all the way. He's a better pitcher and I think the Nationals should just let him run with it.

Kliff (NY): Drew Hutchinson looks really good this spring, can he be a top 30 sp by seasons end?

Bret Sayre: Nope. Don't let spring-colored glasses taint your evaluations. Hutchinson is good enough to stick in the rotation, but he's very unlikely to be that good.

Vic (Baltimore): If you had your pick between...Pedroia, Stanton, Gomez, Longoria, Heyward, or Upton, Who would you consider? Who would you immediately eliminate? Thanks

Bret Sayre: I'd eliminate Pedroia and Heyward. I'd likely choose Gomez.

John (Toronto): Hi Bret, Which 2 would you prefer as a keeper? Moore, Teahran, Tanaka, Hamels, Cobb or Wacha?

Bret Sayre: Hamels and Cobb. Love me some pitchers who keep the ball on the ground.

pobothecat (over there): Pittsburgh, Milwaukee and Houston all have ugly first-base situations. Meanwhile Mike Carp projects for 350 AB's. Shouldn't the first two make serious offers for him --- and do you think they will?

Bret Sayre: Excuse me for not being able to get it up for a #FreeMikeCarp movement.

dtothew (Atlanta ): Will Middlebrooks - keeps the job all year or no? 615 career ABs, 32 doubles, 32 bombs.....am I crazy for thinking he's pretty wildly underrated? Seems like classic post-hype sleeper to me. Thanks as always for the input - have a great day!

Bret Sayre: Sure, he can keep the job all year and he's likely to put up pretty good power numbers. I'd say 25 homers is possible here.

Vic (Baltimore): Could you please rank the following on value in a 5 x 5 for the next 4-5 years in total? Desmond Jennings, Austin Jackson, Brandon Belt, Brett Lawrie

Bret Sayre: Jennings, Jackson, Lawrie, Belt.

Brian (Ohio): I'm a new BP subscriber because I recently joined two different deep dynasty leagues where around 200 total prospects are owned. Throughout the year, am I gonna have to do my own research, or will BP be constantly updating me on prospects who are seeing major increases in future fantasy value?

Bret Sayre: Do not worry, my friend. We have you covered.

earlweaver (DC): Hi!... For an AL Only, 5x5 draft: For 3B-SS, would you rather have: Beltre-BradMiller or Freese-Reyes?

Bret Sayre: The Beltre side, for sure.

pobothecat (whatever): Ryan Kalish --- leadoff hitter for the Cubs by May 15th?

Bret Sayre: Oh man I'd love to see that, but no. A Kalish revival would be a fantastic story though.

CharlieWerner (Manayunk Pa): Who would you rather own in a dynasty? Yan Gomes, Travis D'arnaud, or Miguel Montero?

Bret Sayre: I'd prefer d'Arnaud, but if I knew I needed to get production out of the position this year, I'd go Montero. In neither scenario would Gomes enter the equation.

Nat Man (DC): Giolito - do I get to see him in the bigs next season? Or are the Nats extra cautious because of Strasburg?

Bret Sayre: Absolutely not and it has nothing to do with Strasburg. He's a 19-year old kid who has already have Tommy John as a pro. If you see him in 2016, all is good in the world.

Rush (MN): Jose Abreu - where does he slot in among AL 1B?

Bret Sayre: Right behind the Pujols/Hosmer tier. I think his bat is legit and he'll hit 30 homers.

Rick (Colorado): Is Dahl still on the prospect radar?

Bret Sayre: Oh god yes. I had him as a top-50 fantasy prospect this off-season and I expect a big season from him now that he's healthy.

Jeff (Jefferson City): Who do you want for this season: Estrada, Porcello, Ventura, Nova? Please rank.

Bret Sayre: Nova, Ventura, Porcello, Estrada.

Tanner Roark (DC): Which pair do you like better - Braun and Cobb or Darvish and Holliday(or Marte)

Bret Sayre: Gimme Matt and Yu.

johnpark99 (Chicago): JUST A QUICK THANKS FOR ANSWERING MY QUESTION! MUCH APPRECIATED!

Bret Sayre: YOU'RE WELCOME!

Bx socks (Bx ny): When will Bryant be manning the hot corner in Wrigley

Bret Sayre: Never, but he'll be patrolling a corner later this year.

Max (Fantasyland): Kershaw, Cigrani, Cashner, M.Perez, C.Martinez, Gausman, Clippard, Qualls, G.Richards - decent pitching staff?

Bret Sayre: I'd give it a B. The only guy you have with #2 potential is Cashner and it drops off from there into riskier territory quickly. But then again, Kershaw can cover over a few sins.

Kkline (Georgetown): I've got a draft question for ya. Looks like lots of arms are available this year, and I'm hoping you can provide a long term ranking on these names: Hoffman, Rodon, Kolek, Aiken, Newcomb, and Beede.

Bret Sayre: Gimme Rodon, Hoffman, Kolek, Aiken, Beede, Newcomb.

Frank (Boston): Better chance of fantasy relevance this year? N.Freiman or CJ Cron?

Bret Sayre: Freiman, I guess. I don't see Cron doing much of anything for the Angels in 2014.

The Dude (Couch): Final 4?

Bret Sayre: Javier Baez, Javier Baez, Yordano Ventura and Javier Baez.

Bob (NY): I know, I know, spring training is spring training, but X.Bogaerts is making me a bit nervous. Can I count on him in fantasy?

Bret Sayre: Yes. Take those spring stats and throw them out the window.

Anthony (Pleasant Hill, CA): Is Carlos Gonzalez 1st round keeper worthy in a 12 team H2H league? Injury history is concerning

Bret Sayre: Absolutely, he's a first rounder in any format.

Julio (Texas): Abreu or Ryan Zimmerman next two years for my CI spot. Thanks.

Bret Sayre: Zimmerman. He never gets the respect he deserves.

Freddie (Miami): I'm reading less than enthusiastic reports on Colin Moran. Obviously you never want to argue with a major league regular, but the Marlins spent a high pick on him. Any chance he develops into a .300, 25 HR hitter?

Bret Sayre: I'd be pretty surprised if he developed that power. The average could happen though.

Dan (GA): Who would you rather have: AJ Burnett or Justin Masterson?

Bret Sayre: Masterson, but I don't feel great about it.

Silverback38 (VA): International signings seem to have huge benefits: (Cespedes, Wei-Yin Chen, Darvish, Puig and Hyun-Jin Ryu). Who are a couple of the next big players we should look out for?

Bret Sayre: There's not much coming out of Japan. Kenta Maeda is the next pitcher who will come over (likely for 2015), but he's a soft-tossing #4 profile. Cuba has some good hitters in Jose Fernandez and Yasmani Tomas, but who knows when or if they'll defect.

Rob (Baltimore): As a guy new to fantasy are there any tips you can give to me? Any rules to go by when drafting? Thanks Bret

Bret Sayre: Have values in front of you that you trust. Have a plan for how you think the draft might go, but adjust when it's necessary. And most of all, just have fun. That's what this is all about.

Dan (Toronto): LOTS of Kole Calhoun hype the past few weeks; how high has he risen up your OF rank/tier, if at all? Thanks.

Bret Sayre: I'm not buying it. I've seen him touted as a 20/20 guy and that seems awfully rich. I think he'll be a solid deeper league outfielder, but he's more of a last resort in shallower formats.

RotoLando (Cloud City, Bespin): I need some TINO

Bret Sayre: TINO happens tomorrow. Patience, my friend.

Joe (Oakland): Is Anibal Sanchez's recent shoulder trouble enough to keep Chris Archer over him in a 12 team keeper H2H league?

Bret Sayre: Not right now. Sanchez has been battling his shoulder for years, it's built into his value.

Ken (LA): It pains me to have to ask, but can you please rank Eovaldi, Hutchison, Taylor Jordan and Martin Perez?

Bret Sayre: Assuming they all start the season in the rotation: Perez, Jordan, Eovaldi, Hutchison.

Stepin Fechet (Myrtle Beach): If you had to choose between the upside of Gausman Carlos Martinez and Ventura In a keeper how do you rank the trio both short tetm and long term?

Bret Sayre: Gausman is still the top guy there, but it's getting very crowded. All great options.

SenatorsGuy (Montana): Gut reaction, where does Carlos Rodon fit in the Top 101 prospects the moment he's drafted?

Bret Sayre: Mid to late teens.

Paul Goldsmyth (Venezia): If i opt to wait on C or 3B in a deep points league which of the following could any of these deep sleepers bail me out - T Frazier, Moose Tacos, Arenado, Grandal, Castillo, Mesoraco, Norris?

Bret Sayre: I think Arenado and Castillo could be a reasonable fall back option if you're intense at other positions.

Big Man (Syracuse): Yeonis screwing around with his swing and looking lost. Do you believe in those spring numbers or again throw them out the window?

Bret Sayre: Out the window. If the new swing doesn't work, he'll just go back.

BR (NYC): If Beachy is done for the season, I've got a SP bench spot to fill. The league uses HR-allowed as an added stat, and QS instead of W. Some of the top available arms are Straily, Porcello, Hudson, and Nolasco. Or speculative picks like Eovaldi or Pineda. Any suggestions?

Bret Sayre: Straily, but Pineda is making a push to be considered there.

Billy Butler (KC): How would you rank Craig, Abreu, Rizzo, Billy Butler in a 6x6 league with OBP and Ks?

Bret Sayre: Craig, Abreu, Butler, Rizzo.

Shawnykid23 (CT): What do you expect out of Josh Johnson this year?

Bret Sayre: Strong performance and a DL stint. He's a great target in mixed leagues.

Big Al (Detroit): My minor league keeps are Dahl, C.Frazier, & Giolito - nice future there? How soon before any get a sniff?

Bret Sayre: You won't see any of them in the next couple of years, but that's a LOT of upside.

Daryl (Minnesota): Starting OF of Harper, Cespedes, & Jennings? Opinion for fantasy purposes - 20-team league

Bret Sayre: A-. Very strong.

Daff38 (Sheffield, UK): Hey Brett, First off, thanks for all the Fantasy stuff over the last 3 months - loved all of it, and the 'Resources' page is utter genius. It's turned BP into my 'go to' source in prepping for all my drafts. Anyway got a Prospect question for you - what impact, if any, do you expect Nick Kingham, Chi Chi Gonzalez and Kevin Gausman to have in the Majors this year? Cheers, Daff

Bret Sayre: I'd be surprised if Kingham or Gonzalez see much more than emergency duty in the majors, but Gausman should hold down a role for the O's and if they're doing it right, it'll be one in the starting rotation.

Cranial Displacement Goldstein (An Upside-down Bucket in a pool): My name's Craig and I like catchers

Bret Sayre: That's totally something he would say.

tno1986 (nyc): in a deep dynasty any pitching prospects with high ceilings and arent close to the majors? need some names for late

Bret Sayre: Lewis Thorpe, Alexander Reyes, Jose Martinez, Alberto Tirado.

Tim (Boston): Bret, great chat. Coke or Pepsi?

Bret Sayre: I drink almost nothing but Pepsi One. Literally, I'm drinking it right now.

Big Guy (NY): If you had to guess right now, before or after May 1rst debut for Machado?

Bret Sayre: I'd say after, but I'm usually pessimistic when it comes to injury timetables.

Mike (PA): I think R.Soriano is toast & Clippard is closing my May - agree or disagree?

Bret Sayre: Disagree. I think Soriano holds the job all year even in his diminished state.

fletchgriz (Iowa): Can you give me your top 3 dynasty league choices between the following pitchers: M.Stroman, T.Glasnow, A. Reyes, L. Sims, B.Shipley and M. Wisler.

Bret Sayre: Stroman, Wisler, Glasnow.

Dave (Boston): Hey Bret - Any guys that are not closers this year that could have the inside track to be closer next year? Thanks.

Bret Sayre: Cody Allen and Jason Motte.

Javy (Florida): Would you rather have the top 3 hitters ( Bryant, Abreu, Frazier ) or the top 3 hitters ( tanaka, gray, Appel) from this past prospects class?

Bret Sayre: Hitters, always hitters.

Billy Butler (KC ): How would you rank Calhoun, Eaton, Avisail, and Khris in a non-keeper league?

Bret Sayre: I'd go Eaton, Garcia, Calhoun, Davis.

Shawnykid23 (CT): Machado still have .300 30 HR upside?

Bret Sayre: Yes he does. He's a superstar.

Tjh (New Jersey ): What do you think of Lincecum this year? Bounce back or out to bullpen?

Bret Sayre: How about neither? I think he'll be bad enough to not have it be a bounce back season, but not bad enough to be demoted to the bullpen. They gave him all that money to start and their depth (while not as bad as last year) isn't good.

MickeyRivers (NY): What do you think about Josh Donaldson this year? Are people underrating Carlos Santana a bit?

Bret Sayre: I think Donaldson, with the exception of a few points of batting average, is real and will continue his success into 2014. As far as Santana, I think he's being appropriately valued, as he's never quite put together the average and power.

Royal Farm (Dc): What are your thoughts on Dean Anna? Is there any upside there?

Bret Sayre: I still refuse to believe that this is a real person.

The Dude (Couch): Nick Castellanos or Gregory Polanco?

Bret Sayre: For 2014, Castellanos. Long-term, Polanco.

Greg (Atlanta): Are you excited to see what #'s Ventura can put up with 200 innings?

Bret Sayre: At this point, I'd be excited just to see Ventura wait on line at a supermarket. Or eat a cheeseburger.

CharlieWerner (Manayunk Pa): Please talk more about Clint Frazier. We love him. Throw us a realistic expectation of what you expect from him at the MLB level

Bret Sayre: Frazier could be a near .300 hitter with 30 homers and 20-plus steals. It's not the most likely outcome in the world, but his ceiling is elite.

Poco (Mexico): Just curious to see if you're high on Dozier this year? Any chance he could ever go 20/20? cheers.

Bret Sayre: I like him OK, but I don't see him going 20/20. I think 2013 was pretty much his high water mark.

Phillip (Squamish): hi there. i need to trade for a closer in my pool... These are the guys "available". How would you rank these guys in terms of risk (being bad or injury): Tommy Hunter, Uehara, Feliz, Janssen. thanks...

Bret Sayre: It's clearly Uehara if they're all similar prices. There's unnecessary risk in the other three.

John (NYC ): Would you gamble Straily and Pinto for Uehara in an AL only league where saves are largely already keepers?

Bret Sayre: Sure, if you need saves that's a perfectly reasonable trade. With most of the elite closers in the NL, Uehara is one of the best you can get in an AL-only.

joecas10 (somewhere): does Rosenthal ever wind up in the rotation or is he now a closer for good?

Bret Sayre: I'd be surprised at this point if the Cardinals made him a starter. Assume he's a closer for good.

MRubio52 (Chicago): What is Stephen Piscotty's fantasy ceiling?

Bret Sayre: Essentially, Allen Craig but with less power. How the Cardinals keep finding/developing these guys is just incredible. I blame Mort.

Chin music (Vancouver): Is J Pinto starting with the big club? Wondering about keeping him at $1 instead of Michael Saunders at $4. Thanks very much.

Bret Sayre: Both are very unlikely to see a starting role with their respective clubs--I'd see what else is out there.

Philips (Orlando): Can H. Bailey become elite this year? Or is he just a good #2?

Bret Sayre: I don't think he ever becomes a fantasy ace, but there's nothing wrong with a good #2 fantasy starter--and that's what he is.

Pete (Punxatawny): What's your thought on Billy Hamilton this year? On one hand, he's getting a lot of hype. But on another hand, a lot of "experts" are writing it off because "they don't pay for speed." Seems like he could he has the potential to be a serious difference maker. Your thoughts?

Bret Sayre: He can flat out win you a category, but he has plenty of risk. That said, we all have to remember that he's not doomed to hit .230 or have a sub-.300 OBP.

Bret Sayre: That was fun, everyone. We'll have to do it again soon. Thanks for all the questions!
