2014-02-13 13:00:00 (link to chat)R.J., What type of year do you expect from Tyler Skaggs ?
(Harry from San Bernadino)
Solid but unspectacular, Harry. You figure he might be the odd man out if Mark Mulder makes that club, which seems unlikely but who knows. Skaggs still has a chance to become a no. 3 starter type, and though that's not what we envisioned for him a few years ago, that's a mighty fine pitcher. I'm curious to see if the Angels tweak his mechanics a bit this spring. (R.J. Anderson)
2014-01-06 13:00:00 (link to chat)Why did my angels sign Mark Mulder?
(Dave from LAA)
It's worth a shot right? Not costing them much if he fails. (Jeff Moore)
2013-04-04 11:00:00 (link to chat)Before Jaime Garcia, the Cardinals hadn't had a LHP starter win a game since Mark Mulder! They don't have any LHP at all that could be more than no.5 starters or 7th inning bullpen arms.
(Bubba from STL)
Are left-handed pitchers the key to success or something? They have the prospect currency to acquire a left-handed pitcher if so needed. Its all currency. (Jason Parks)
2008-08-27 13:00:00 (link to chat)Is Adam Jones's foot problem the kind of problem that is likely to reaccur?
(Jay from Madison)
No. Fractures heal and with new techniques and medications, they heal faster and better. The first year I did UTK, there was a lot of talk about Mark Mulder trying to come back from a fractured hip by using a drug meant for osteoporosis. We never got a chance to see if it worked, but there's better now. (Will Carroll)
2008-07-29 16:00:00 (link to chat)Any chance the Cards pick up the lefty reliever for whom Tony La Russa seems to be pining? What do you think are the chances that Mark Mulder pitches effectively at the big league level again? Less than 50%?
(P Bu from St. Louis)
Yeah, I think so. I was surprised they didnt get that in return for Anthony Reyes, but his stock had dropped so much they were lucky to get anything. (I can't find this, but didn't the Cards and Indians talk about a Reyes for Cliff Lee deal?) Mulder? Less than 50. 20? (Will Carroll)
2008-06-18 13:00:00 (link to chat)Mark Mulder is pitching in Memphis thursday, and could be back on the official roster by Tuesday. Last start he was touching 91 on the gun. What should Cards fans expect when he gets back?
(MikeJordan23 from Minnesota)
Upside? League average pitcher that can give the team some innings at a time they really need them. (Will Carroll)
2008-05-22 13:00:00 (link to chat)True or false, Mark Mulder's career is effectively over?
(Big Steve from St Louis)
Mostly true. I think he could come back and be effective but inconsistent, in that he could have a good start here and there. Mulder has an all too common pattern to his career. (Will Carroll)
