2013-10-15 13:00:00 (link to chat) | how would you rank these pitchers during the next 4 years...Crick, Glasnow, jGray, Giolito. does anyone stand above the others or are their projected values comparable? (hdub from the bleachers) | This is tough. Giolito has the highest ceiling for me, followed by Gray and Crick. Glasnow is a very good arm but I don't see the same extreme upside there. Crick could end up in the 'pen, as he has a Rick Vaughn sort of approach at times. Giolito doesn't have the prettiest mechs or the most athletic body, but he could be a prototypical power arm in any capacity. Gray is still a wildcard for me. I don't have a good feel for him yet. 2013-06-20 13:00:00 (link to chat) | What should I do about my cutter it's not working very well lately? Plus I can't locate my fastball at all. Am I suffering poor mechanics or is my only hope to ask Rick Vaughn to borrow his glasses that can make me throw faster and only strikes? (Jon Lester from Boston) | The command of both has been horrid hence the barrage of HRs. Ideally you're with the guy who can best fix you, John Farrell. I'm bummed, but not worried. (Paul Sporer) |
2012-10-23 13:00:00 (link to chat) | Who's fastball graded higher, Rick Vaughn or Nuke LaLoosh? My money is on Wild Thing... (JohnRonB from Chicago) | I dont know. Vaughn's FB looked a bit straight. I preferred LaLoosh's mechanics; lots of moving parts, but the late hand break added some deception to go along with the big velo. (Jason Parks) |
