2014-09-23 13:00:00 (link to chat) | Do you think Grayson Garvin can be a backend starter? Also favorite Montgomery prospect who most people ignore? (Logger from Cabin in the Woods) | I never saw Garvin this season due to his injury, though I know some who like him as a solid 4-5 starter. Justin O'Conner is legit and I think he's slightly undervalued on the national scene. He has the best arm in the minors from behind the plate (he threw out 55% this season!), has good raw pop that is starting to materialize some in game action, and is an overall good defender behind the plate. He's a guy who could have a very productive career after being somewhat undervalued as a prospect. (Ethan Purser) |
2013-09-11 13:00:00 (link to chat) | Can Grayson Garvin turn into a #4 for the Rays? And is Mikie Mahtook anything more than a reserve outfielder? (The Wolf from Noggin) | Think Garvin is headed to the Fall League, right? I'll see him there and have more for you. I don't have any reports on Garvin from this year, but my reports from last year were average fastball with pedestrian secondary stuff. As far as Mahtook: reserve outfielder is what I'd mostly heard coming into this season, and I think this year is kind of reinforcing that. (Jason Cole) |
