DateQuestionAnswer
2017-02-13 20:00:00 (link to chat)Thoughts on value of guys affected by Phillips deal? (Peraza, Dilson, Jace, possibly Adonis) for NL only perspective
(DB from Pgh)
Jace Peterson and Adonis Garcia get hurt due to diminished playing time. Peraza gets a bump up, not sure Dilson Herrera is impacted much. Dilson Herrera still probably won't be an everyday player without at least one more deal or injury, but he's closer to an everyday spot, I guess. (Scooter Hotz)
2016-03-09 19:00:00 (link to chat)You mentioned catchers being tough to gauge with playing time and development. We've also seen some SS/MI emerge offensively lately with LeMahuie, B Crawford, Cozart (til hurt), etc Who is set to emerge this year at MI/SS? ( owings, Jace Peterson, Wimer Flores, Heckyv, Mercer, etc)
(Bart Bennison from Here)
Peterson has a shot. So does Cory Spangenberg. The NL is so thin though that it's hard to guess. No one has mentioned him but I wouldn't be surprised to see J.P. Crawford come up in the second half. (Mike Gianella)
2014-11-18 13:00:00 (link to chat)Any of these infielders going to be a long-term asset? Alex Guerrero, Jace Peterson, Enrique Hernandez, Christian Colon, Luis Sardinas?
(Steve Sax from Los Angeles)
Thanks for getting us started, Steve. I think Sardinas has the best chance of the group to be an asset from the standpoint of emerging as a major-league regular. (Daniel Rathman)
2014-04-29 13:00:00 (link to chat)Is Jace Peterson more then a utility player for SD?
(scott from az)
Could be. He's a polarizing player in that he doesn't have a standout tool. He has a lot of the under the hood stuff that should help him play beyond the physical projections. It wouldn't be too surprising if he's a starter for a few years. (R.J. Anderson)
2014-04-15 13:00:00 (link to chat)Jace Peterson is off to a great start. DO you see him as an above average SS and quality table setter?
(Jon from La Jolla)
I'm not there on Peterson. I think he can be an MLB player but I don't see it playing to that degree. (Mark Anderson)
2012-07-20 13:00:00 (link to chat)A sleeper you like in the Padres system?
(Corey from San Diego)
Is Jace Peterson considered a sleeper? I like his skill set. Middle infielders who can hit near the top of the lineup are always useful. Vince Belnome could develop into a utility player. A couple of right-handers at Lake Elsinore, Matt Andriese and Burch Smith, are intriguing. Ditto Matthew Wisler at Fort Wayne. Kevin Quackenbush is a reliever but might be something. (Geoff Young)
