(sportsguy21792 from madison) | It's hard to predict that given their history there. They've already made some acquisitions for next year in trading for Bauer at the deadline. I agree the offense could be improved and I'd be wary of relying on Aristides Aquino despite the hot start. A full, healthy season of Nick Senzel could go a long way but it's hard to think that'll happen with his injury history. (Craig Goldstein) |

Oh shit, what was his name? Started with an 'A'..." And then you'll forget about it (because neither of you are near a phone or internet connection to Google it, let's say).
Three nights later, you awaken, sit bolt upright in bed, and mumble, "Aristides Aquino. Ha." Then, you fall immediately back to sleep and wake up the next morning, remembering nothing, but feeling the most rested you've felt in months, possibly years. (Jon Hegglund) |

| 2019-06-26 13:00:00 (link to chat) | Aristides Aquino is crushing it in AAA this year. He has always had loud tools but a lot of contact and consistency issues. It looks like he was re-tooled his stance into an open stance with a noticeable leg kick. Should Reds fan be getting excited about him?
(griffey012 from Indianapolis) | lord knows I love Aristides but he looks like mostly the same guy in terms of his peripherals, including batted ball stuff, with the exception of his BABIP and his HR/FB. That's paired with his exit velo going up too (both average and max). Whether that's because the MLB ball has made its way to Triple-A or a substantive change that will stick for him...it's hard to know. (Craig Goldstein) |

(Mark from google) | I also wrote up Aristides Aquino in an eyewitness! His profile still has a lot of volatility given how young he is and how aggressive he is at the plate. At his peak he hits a lot of home runs while you don't talk about him defensively. (Steve Givarz) |

| 2014-12-18 15:00:00 (link to chat) | What are your thoughts on Aristides Aquino? I was a little surprised not to see him crack the Reds top 10 prospects list.
(Matt from MD) | He's a high risk investment at present. He was in the On The Rise section, so it's not like we're not keyed in on the guy. He fills out the uniform beautifully, and is a pleasure to dream on, but I felt we were realistic in factoring in the potential pitfalls along the way. There are lots of guys with his profile that have failed to progress upon hitting the upper levels of the minors (or took time to figure it out). That puts his timetable sufficiently far enough from the big leagues that I don't think excluding him from the 10 ranked guys was unreasonable. I'd like to see what he does in full-season ball before putting too much expectation on him. He's a nice slow-and-low type prospect though. Could pop up in a big way a few years down the line.
