2014-07-01 13:00:00 (link to chat)What do you think of Jose Rondon? Future utility infielder or even a starter in the bigs?
(Mark from Naples)
I just wrote a full report on him, actually. Good player, good stick. Nothing grades out as plus. Check out my report. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/prospects/eyewitness_bat.php?reportid=120 (Chris Rodriguez)
2014-07-08 13:00:00 (link to chat)Who are some trade chips the Angels can offer to try and get some SP?
(Lewis from LA)
There isn't much in the system to be completely honest. Taylor Lindsey will have some value to teams, but he's more of a secondary prospect for a top pitcher, than a center piece guy. Kaleb Cowart has his believers in the industry, but again, not likely to be a center piece to any deal. Jose Rondon could be a piece as well. The Angels are going to have to attempt to compensate for lack of quality with quantity if they really want to get something done. (Mark Anderson)
2013-09-04 13:00:00 (link to chat)Best under the radar Single A and below players to keep a close eye on...
(Joe Bob from TX)
RHP Alberto Tirado is a good one to keep a close eye on; Jose Rondon with the Angels will most likely jump into their top three prospects; Franklin Barreto really wowed people in the GCL. (Jason Parks)
2013-09-04 13:00:00 (link to chat)After Xander, correa, seager and Russell, who are the next best MI prospects to keep an eye on?
(Biscuits from Morgan hill, ca )
Raul Adalberto Mondesi could be a star; Jose Rondon will have helium this off-season. Just wait. (Jason Parks)
2013-09-11 13:00:00 (link to chat)What do you as Jose Rondon's ceiling?
(Robert from California)
Rondon finished slow but still had a .293/.359/.399 slash in his age 19 season at Orem. Certainly not bad. Polished, instinctual player with bat speed and good defensive skills. Fringe runner but intelligent on the base paths. He's a fun one to watch. It's probably a role 5 ceiling so nothing spectacular, but I do like him a lot. The all-around polish and instincts for a shortstop his age are well above average. (Jason Cole)
2013-06-13 13:00:00 (link to chat)Favorite hitting prospect yet to play full-season ball?
(Aaron from Long Beach)
I'll limit this to guys I just saw in extended spring training in Arizona, since they're on the top of my head. Stryker Trahan with Arizona. One prospect to watch out for Jose Rondon, a young SS prospect with the Angels. (Jason Cole)
