BP Annual Player Comments

YearComment
2019  Due to publishing agreements, the 2019 player comments and team essays are only available in the Baseball Prospectus 2019 book (available in hardcopy, and soon e-book and Kindle).
2018 Potential middle reliever Justin Haley had the shortest and most ill-fated career at the Twins since Robb Stark. Minnesota returned the Rule 5 pick to Boston in July.
2017 Justin Haley served as a solid if unremarkable starter in both Portland and Pawtucket last season. He’s close enough to the majors that he could warrant a full writeup in the next Annual, marking the first time anyone under the age of 30 will have seen Haley’s comment.
2015 He's unlikely to ever be a big-time prospect, but Justin Haley took a long step forward in 2014, improving his command and moving up two levels. He needs better secondaries to avoid the bullpen, but has the fastball and size to start.
2014 Justin Haley, who for now is all fastball, walked 37 batters in his first 42 innings, but by August that was a distant memory replaced by strikeouts and a healthy K/BB ratio.

(Andy from Tacoma, WA)
Not impossible that he'll get some starts, but most likely role (if he sticks with the Twins) is low-leverage relief for now and maybe mid-leverage relief later. (Aaron Gleeman)
