2017		After seven seasons as a minor-league starter Neal finally made his MLB debut at age 27 and finished a solid rookie year with a strong September in Oakland's bullpen. Neal tops out in the low 90s, but features good off-speed stuff and pounds the strike zone. And no pitcher missed fewer bats in 2016, as Neal managed a minuscule 3.47 strikeouts per nine innings. That's the fifth-lowest strikeout rate by any pitcher with 70 or more innings since 2010, and each of the four lower rates belonged to starters (Aaron Cook, Justin Nicolino, Jake Westbrook, Derek Lowe). Neal generated more whiffs in the minors, but just barely, averaging 5.5 K/9 at Double-A and Triple-A. He has the potential to be a useful low-leverage arm, but more than that he has the potential to make for a really weird viewing experience.
