DateQuestionAnswer
2019-07-09 12:00:00 (link to chat)Is Justin Smoak capable of playing 1B full time for an NL team? What teams do you expect to pursue him?
(Craig from Chicago)
Let's assume he is, I still don't know that any buyer at the deadline would see him as enough of a first base upgrade to give up much. I think it's more likely he's a Justin Bour type bench bat for a contender (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2018-02-06 15:00:00 (link to chat)Which Justin are you more bullish on for this season - Justin Smoak or Justin Bour?
(Charlie from Sacramento)
Smoak for me. I believe in the changes he made and as long as he's not getting destroyed by breaking balls, I think he's going to keep hitting for plenty of power and a decent average. Bour has monstrous power but I'm not convinced that the platoon issues are gone and that could severely limit his upside. (Darius Austin)
2017-07-12 13:00:00 (link to chat)Rest of 2017: Hanley or Justin Bour?
(mattstupp from NYC)
I'm surprised that I'm going with Bour here. He's significantly younger and with Hanley not running anymore that eliminates his biggest advantage. Unless the Marlins go back to using Bour as the big half of a platoon, I'd go that way. (Nick Schaefer)
2016-01-21 19:00:00 (link to chat)So the Marlins are bringing in the walls. Should we love Justin Bour a little more? There's no hype for that dude. And how about Ozuna? If he stays in Miami, wouldn't that bump his value up, too?
(DavidMGibson from BC Manatee Country)
No on Bour...Yes on Ozuna...I've written about him a ton. He's a good hitter, with a ton of power. Erase last season from your memory, if possible. I'm confident he rebounds in 2016: http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=27470 (George Bissell)
2011-06-27 14:00:00 (link to chat)Did you and Jason know there literally was a Rambo cartoon? Please fill in the blank: Justin Bour would need to ______ in order to become a top 100 prospect someday.
(Guancous from Silver Spring, MD)
"become a way better baseball player" (Kevin Goldstein)
