2015-06-15 19:00:00 (link to chat)Which of the Tacoma players that have played for the Mariners in the past can contribute to the Mariners this year
(Will from Medina)
A lot of them could contribute in a part time role. Jesus Montero could hit lefties really well right now. James Jones just got called up and he's a legitimate weapon on the bases. I've heard from a scout who thinks Stefen Romero would do well, although I don't really see it. Franklin Gutierrez is Tacoma's best player but he can only play the field a few times per week. (Brendan Gawlowski)
2015-03-06 14:00:00 (link to chat)Any reason to think Patrick Kivlehan is not just the redeux of Vinny Catricalla and Stefen Romero?
(Prich from Teaching Class)
Yes. Kivlehan is good at playing baseball. Those other guys aren't.

That's my first snarky comment as a member of BP. Hope you're proud of me, Keith.

In all seriousness the industry is higher on Kivlehan than I am, but he's a quality athlete and he gets better each year. He's a potential regular. Those other guys never were. (Christopher Crawford)
2013-11-25 13:00:00 (link to chat)I know he's not the sexiest prospect, but does Stefen Romero's hot AFL and the possibility of playing time in the outfield make him a potential sleeper?
(David from Seattle)
No. I don't see a major league regular. He's a 4 for me. (Jason Parks)
2013-04-15 13:00:00 (link to chat)More likely to make an impact this year, Stefen Romero or Carlos Sanchez?
(Biscuits from SJSU)
Hi Biscuits (SJSU). Again, I'm not a prospect guy, but Romero is a 24-year-old in A-ball, which isn't exciting. There are two people named Carlos Sanchez currently playing in the minors. Assuming you mean the White Sox middle infielder, he's a 21-year-old in Triple-A with a good defensive reputation. I'll go with Sanchez. (Geoff Young)
