2014-05-13 11:00:00 (link to chat)Does Max Stassi push the Astros to deal Jason Castro in the next two years to open up a slot for him? If not, would he profile as part-time DH / backup C.
(WB from Florida)
They shouldn't. Castro is the superior talent. Of course if they want to keep losing 100 games a season, sure trade Castro. (Jason Parks)
2013-08-14 13:00:00 (link to chat)So this Max Stassi guy is looking good. How good do you think he might end up at the Major League level?
(Ashitaka1110 from Houston, Texas)
I think he's Houston's future backup to Jason Castro, and that's not a bad thing. Has an chance to be an everyday guy back there. Does okay with the bat, shows some pop, and does okay behind the plate. (Jason Cole)
2013-07-29 11:00:00 (link to chat)Max Stassi is putting up incredible numbers for a guy who was supposed to be glove-first. Since I don't want to be accused of scouting a stat line, are scouts seeing something different there?
(Rob from Alaska)
I haven't seen him in person, but I know some guy name Goldstein regularly tweets about him when he hits a bomb. (Zach Mortimer)
2013-07-25 13:00:00 (link to chat)What kind of upside does Max Stassi have and how is his defense?
(Joseph from Houston)
Always liked his receiving skills. Never saw much potential with the stick until now. Been impressive. (Jason Parks)
2013-02-05 13:00:00 (link to chat)What do you think of the haul (Chris Carter, Brad Peacock, and Max Stassi) the Astros got for Jed Lowrie?
(Dave from Houston)
Impressed with the return. I've been impressed with the 'Stros ability to acquire talent. (Jason Parks)
2012-12-13 13:00:00 (link to chat)Do you think Max Stassi could make a jump into the top 100 for next year? Like what D'Arnaud did when he hit AAA?
(Kevin from SD)
I don't. I like the defensive profile, but I don't have the same passion for his bat. (Jason Parks)
2010-07-01 14:00:00 (link to chat)Anything new on Max Stassi? Is his arm good enough behind the plate?
(Jeff from Pittsburgh)
I think he'll be fine back there. He'll, I think he'll be well above average back there. (Kevin Goldstein)
2010-06-07 18:30:00 (link to chat)Is there a Max Stassi you see who could be a potential first round HS guy who goes into the 3-4-5 rounds?
(Neal from Joliet, IL)
Zack Lee. Dodgers take Zack Lee. So much for divorce holding back the spending. I heard the price tag is 3 million. (Kevin Goldstein)
2010-04-08 14:00:00 (link to chat)Any compelling reasons to head to Geneva to see Kane County play this summer? I mean, aside from the pork chop sandwich and the fact that they have a better beer selection than either the Cubs or Sox?
(ChuckR from Addison, IL)
There are always compelling reasons! Max Stassi is a huge reason, local product Ian Krol could be a good arm, and while guys like Dixon, House and Richard all have their share of holes, it's also probably the most athletic outfielder in franchise history. (Kevin Goldstein)
