2009 After struggling in the Sally League in 2007, Correa was moved down to the New York-Penn League. There, the Puerto Rican import began to make adjustments to his raw secondary stuff and a developing fastball that's already capable of hitting the mid-90s. He was supposed to get his second chance at Low-A, but a tooth infection in April and a blister later on derailed his season. Given how much work his slider needs, that year of development will be missed, but he's still young enough to overcome that and get himself back on the Marlins prospect radar, even if it's as a reliever.
2008 The Marlins felt as though Correa could handle a full-season assignment at age 19. Not quite. He washed out of Low-A Greensboro, but he was the talk of the New York-Penn League once he found his groove again in extended spring training. Long and lanky, Correa has a ton of upside, with many feeling that the mid-90s velocity he occasionally shows now will become a more regular occurrence with more seasoning. Throw in a biting slider, and he is still a high-ceiling prospect, although he's not far off the floor right now.
