DateQuestionAnswer
2019-05-13 16:00:00 (link to chat)Are you more likely to tune in to the Twins' TV broadcasts this year or you still fully hitting that mute button? If the former, what have you thought of Morneau? Kaat? Any others you'd like to see on?
(The Cat from it my house now)
Following up on my earlier comment: Justin Morneau has been great. LaTroy Hawkins was also good last year. Roy Smalley is always solid. Glen Perkins and Michael Cuddyer have a chance to be really good. Generally speaking, I'm in favor of younger players getting an opportunity. Not only can they speak about the modern game, and tell stories about competing against players still active, their overall enthusiasm level is higher and, in the Twins' case, they seem to put far more prep work into doing the job. (Aaron Gleeman)
2015-10-19 19:00:00 (link to chat)I know it's hard to predict, but do you see AJ Ramos, Glen Perkins, Tom Wilhelmson, Arlodis Vizcaino and Scott Tolleson are all closing next year?
(Peter from IL)
They should all start with the job (with the possible exception of Wilhelmson), but none is a great bet. I'd rank them Tolleson, Perkins, Ramos, Vizcaino, Wilhelmson, but in terms of job security Vizcaino is higher than anyone but Perkins. (Tout Wars Champ Mike Gianella)
2014-03-12 14:00:00 (link to chat)Other than Brandon McCarthy, who seems to be the stock answer, do you have a favorite player (or parody account) to follow on Twitter?
(Tom from Eugene, OR.)
I don't spend a ton of time on Twitter (I just sort of make surgical strikes when I want to tweet something or respond to something someone tweeted at me), so I miss a lot. Glen Perkins (@glen_perkins) seems like a pretty good follow. (Ben Lindbergh)
2014-03-14 09:00:00 (link to chat)Made a bit of a blockbuster in a 10-team dynasty league. Traded Bryce Harper, Jayson Werth, David Robertson, Glen Perkins, Zach Greinke, plus prospects (farm roster) Joey Gallo and Eddie Butler. Got back Ryan Braun, Carlos Gomez, Homer Bailey, and prospects Xander Bogaerts and Billy Hamilton. I like the trade for me as I can play Xander and Billy right away, but I have my concerns over Harper breaking out. What do you think?
(Sara from Tacoma)
Hi Sara:

Wow, that is a blockbuster! In a league that size, I like that trade for you in the here and now. You got four potential impact players and a strong pitcher in Bailey for two potential impact guys in Harper and Werth with two closers and Greinke. A lot depends on what happens with Gallo and Butler, but if you're playing for this year (and flags fly forever, as we like to say around here) you did well. (Mike Gianella)
2013-02-15 12:00:00 (link to chat)Which lower tier closers have the best chance at becoming elite, if any.
(rupertoooo from Lorton, VA)
time to plug my closer matrix article! http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=19615 -- I would love to see David Hernandez get a shot at closing. I like Bobby Parnell, Glen Perkins, and Greg Holland. (Jason Collette)
2013-02-15 12:00:00 (link to chat)I offered Starlin Castro, Ian Kennedy, Glen Perkins and Gary Brown for Adam Jones, Billy Hamilton, and Michael Pineda in 20-team dynasty. The leagues uses LF/CF/RF over OF, and has deep pitching requirements. The manager I proposed this to has McCutchen in CF, Jones is his DH. He has nobody at SS currently (my backup is Segura). He proposes back Robinson Cano, Starlin Castro, and Ian Kennedy for Adam Jones, Neil Walker, Jason Vargas, and Michael Pineda. I'm not off my game when I say this guy is one suit short of a full deck, am I?
(Louis from Glendale)
I'd trade one of my kids before I traded away Billy Hamilton in a league. For him to take Hamilton out of the deal and ask you to throw in Cano is rather entertaining. Who does he think you are, Jeff Loria? (Jason Collette)
2013-02-14 13:00:00 (link to chat)I really need a SS and could use upgrades at SP. I own Andrew McCutchen in a league that uses LF/CF/RF. I have been offered Starlin Castro, Ian Kennedy, and Glen Perkins (closer for Min.) for Adam Jones, Billy Hamilton, and Michael Pineda. Should I take this deal?
(Donald from Chicago)
It sounds like you're going for 2013 and this deal really aids your 2013 run so I'm on board with it. Tough to give up that potential of Hamilton, but Castro is a blossoming stud in his own right and I've always like Kennedy. (Paul Sporer)
2013-01-07 13:00:00 (link to chat)Hello, I am in a 12-team, 8-man keeper league and have six of my keepers set but am having trouble determining my last two. They are all cheap pitchers and none are ideal but ... anyways, the choices are Brandon McCarthy ($6), Justin Masterson ($5), Randall Delgado ($2) and Glen Perkins ($1). What are your thoughts? Thanks
(Tony from Minneapolis)
I like Perkins the best. He's the cheapest and there is a chance he saves some games this year. (Josh Shepardson)
2012-05-07 13:00:00 (link to chat)when will Glen Perkins start closing?
(Abe Froman from Chicago)
As soon as the Twins create enough save opportunities for Matt Capps to implode two or three times in a two-week span. (R.J. Anderson)
2009-12-09 13:00:00 (link to chat)Who wins a Perkins-Kouzmanoff trade?
(paulbellows from Calgary)
Glen Perkins, who would make a decent amount of money moving to the NL and Petco. I don't think much of Kouzmanoff, and if the Twins think they can get better by adding a slow right-handed hitter with no OBP... (Joe Sheehan)
