2009-11-17 14:00:00 (link to chat) | Both Greg Halman and JP Arencibia were 5-star prospects last year. Should we hold out any hope for either? (Juice from KC) | I have more hope for Arencibia at this point, as he's still a catcher with plus power, and those don't exactly grow on trees. (Kevin Goldstein) |
2009-05-07 14:00:00 (link to chat) | Greg Halman leads AA with 10 HRs, but is striking out in about 40% of his PAs. His best comp is Pedro Cerrano, right? Will he ever learn to hit the offspeed stuff, or is it time to really reduce his ceiling because of those Ks? (sjstraub from (NJ)) | I'm starting to wonder how off a Mike Cameron comp might be. (Kevin Goldstein) |
2009-05-07 14:00:00 (link to chat) | So what is the difference between Greg Halman's bat and Cody Johnson's? Other than he walks less. Or is it a positional thing? (Gunpuddy from Nashville, TN) | Yeah, it really might not be a HUGE difference (though I think Halman is a better hitter). The difference is speed and CF skills, and that's a huge difference. Think about some really good up the middle player, and than look at his numbers and pretend he's a first baseman. He might not even be in the big leagues. (Kevin Goldstein) |
