The starting pitching is probably already their, do they trade Murphy and look at Valdespin at 2B? Sign and trade for a outfielder? Simply add to the bullpen? What can Mets fans expect this offseason? (deech from Long Island)	Tough to say what any team's biggest move this offseason will be at this point, but I could see the Mets trading Murphy. I think they'll move one of Ike Davis and Lucas Duda, as well. My money would be on Duda heading to an American League team. He's tough to hide on defense and his bat isn't good enough to just accept the defensive woes. They'll probably make a few other moves, too-I could see someone like J.P. Howell landing in that bullpen. (R.J. Anderson)

What do you make of the early struggles of the Rays pen? (Tommy from DRaysBay)	Wait, a bullpen couldn't repeat its performance from last year, one which was above and beyond expectations during its successful run? I liked the Rays to be better than last year for reasons outside of their bullpen. I think we'll see Howell and Balfour pick it up a bit, but if you expect them to replicate last year again, you're in for a long season. (Marc Normandin)

Howell was going to get Burrell and only Burrell, why was he left in the game? Why is it not Balfour for Burrell? It's one thing to not worry too much about platoon splits in favor of skill sets. It's another to act in contravention of them. I really don't understand this sequence. (Joe Sheehan)
2008-10-22 16:30:00	World Series Game One	Quite often in talking about pitchers during Top 11 time or during the season, I talk about guys with good curveballs. The key is to find the guys who can BOTH drop it in for strikes AND bury it as a chase pitch. That's what J.P. Howell is doing here . . . and that should have been strike three. (Kevin Goldstein)

I understand his awful platoons, but Charlie Manuel has to believe that getting him one extra at bat late in a game is worth it. " An at-bat that, if it means anything, will probably come against J.P. Howell, or David Price, or Trever Miller, all of whom Howard can't hit. He's a platoon player. (Joe Sheehan)
