2019-05-06 23:45:00 (link to chat)In a vacuum...if you were in a roster crunch and needed to free up space would you trade Fernando Tatis for Wander Franco straight up? Thanks
(Kkelly from Il)
Ehhhh. There's no vacuum there. I'd strongly prefer Tatis for present production - that value advantage is significant in this kind of scenario. Wander's...a year and a half away in a best-case scenario? Tatis is already doing work on big-league pitching. I'd look hard at other ways to resolve your crunch. (Wilson Karaman)
2018-09-12 13:00:00 (link to chat)I've got Fernando Tatis and Brendan Rodgers on my dynasty league roster. How excited should I be?
(Pedro from NYC)
Super excited. You should be super excited. (Mark Barry)
2018-07-16 19:00:00 (link to chat)Is Ronny Marucio potentially the next Fernando Tatis? He's looked awful impressive so far and has the same sort of projectable body.
(Bailey from Maryland)
We just ranked Fernando Tatis Jr. as the second-best prospect in baseball. Let's tap the breaks here. (Jarrett Seidler)
2018-05-25 12:15:00 (link to chat)Quien es mas macho- Fernando Tatis o Keibert Ruiz?
(Jim from Dynasty League)
Pure strength? I'll go with Keibert, but if we're talking who I'd rank higher, Tatio still has the edge. (Craig Goldstein)
2017-08-24 19:00:00 (link to chat)Greetings, Ben. If you had to hang your hat on one guy becoming a superduperstar, who would it be out of Fernando Tatis, Jr, Forest Whitley, Juan Soto, or Bo Bichette?
(Gleyber from Rehab)
Hey Gleyber, hope your elbow's feeling better.

To answer your question, gimme the Dominican Bryce Harper in Juan Soto. That nickname *might* be a bit of an exaggeration, but Little Miggy is doing okay now, I guess. I love Whitley, but pitchers gonna pitcher, and I'm not quite sold on Bichette's real upside just yet. Tatis is right under Soto, but I can't stop thinking about the impact Soto's bat could have in the big leagues. (Ben Diamond)
2017-07-25 20:00:00 (link to chat)What are the odds that Fernando Tatis can stick at SS long-term?
(Jeff from Bay Area)
Hmm, maybe 60/40. Opinion on him varies quite a bit, but with the wave of big shortstops we have now, his chances are higher than they would have been 10 years ago. I have had scouts tell me they don't think he's a shortstop though.
-Emmett (Emmett Rosenbaum & Nathan Graham)
2017-07-13 14:00:00 (link to chat)Thoughts on Fernando Tatis' potential?
(Sam from NJ)
I know Ben and Bret really liked him on their most recent Dynasty Prospect list, with his upside as a 20/20 guy. That would be nice. (Mark Barry)
2017-06-27 20:00:00 (link to chat)What kind of potential does Fernando Tatis have? Top 10 prospect eventually?
(Max from CALI)
Yeah, we've got some really great reports on him. Top ten might be aiming high, but that James Shields deal looks nuttier by the day. (Jarrett Seidler)
2017-06-13 12:00:00 (link to chat)How would Fernando Tatis stack up against the top 5 draftees?
(Buff from colorado)
He's probably not nearly as tall as they are if they're stacked on top of each other (Craig Goldstein)
2009-10-02 14:00:00 (link to chat)In a world where Fernando Tatis gets another shot, shouldn't Richie Sexson find work somewhere?
(Matt from Malone, NY)
Tatis' 2008 was awfully good, and he can pretend to play all the corners. Sexson hasn't had that kind of year in forever and is a one-trick pony. Then again, he'd be about the sixth-best Royal. (Joe Sheehan)
2009-07-13 14:00:00 (link to chat)Is you opinion of francouer deal at all connected to you being bearish about him two years ago? Seems silly to start Omir Santos regularly and play Fernando Tatis fairly often AND acquire Jeff Francouer. Delmon Young could have been gotten without helping a division foe.
(jcalixte from new york)
Jeez, Delmon Young is one of the few guys worse than Francoeur. At least Francoeur plays a good right field. (Joe Sheehan)
2008-08-01 14:00:00 (link to chat)Any idea why the Mets weren't able to get any of the players they were looking at?
(TLivingston from Sonoma, CA)
I don't think the Mets were looking very hard, for better or worse. They seem convinced that Fernando Tatis is for real, that they'll get Ryan Church back at some point, that the rotation will magically hold together despite John Maine's cuff strain, Mike Pelfrey's innings limit, Pedro Martinez's assorted ailments, Oliver Perez's volatility and all that.

I'm not sure I want to bet against all of that by sitting on my hands, but as a team that can afford to take on salary, they have some mobility during the waiver trading period. (Jay Jaffe)
