It's certainly starting to look like it, but that's where we get into the perils of failing to learn from history. I'm sure the Lerners are good at some things; mucking around in a baseball organization doesn't seem to be one of them. Stan Kasten and Mike Rizzo might eventually get things turned around, but I guess I'm reminded of the lot of Gene Michael and so many other sharp front-office types in the '80s when trying to work around The Boss, or the debilitating infighting in the Orioles' organization during Clan Angelos' more activist period. You can be as smart as you like, if the buck doesn't stop with you, it's hard to turn things around. (Christina Kahrl)
