2011-03-02 13:00:00 (link to chat)Of course, the Burrell/Torres/Huff OF does come up with the self-anointed "Wild Kingdom" nickname. (A gazelle and two water buffalo) That's got to count for some points. :)
(Nate from Denver)
It's a fine choice, kudos to you... and it reminds me of those days when guys like Chet Lemon or Gary Pettis had to cover everything from foul pole to foul pole, because of their relatively stationary teammates in both corners. (Christina Kahrl)
2009-07-31 14:00:00 (link to chat)What is Nyjer Morgan's true value? WAR has him as the 2nd most valuable CF and easily the best defensive OF. What is his ceiling?
(Will from D.C.)
Gary Pettis, with a late start? Morgan was a latecomer to baseball, which conceivably gives him growth, although at 29 I'm hard-pressed to see that. I also suspect the defensive numbers are a small-sample blip, and they're driving all of his value. He's a plus defensive CF, clearly, and if he hits .340/.380, that plays. I'd still prefer Milledge's upside. (Joe Sheehan)
