2010-11-09 14:00:00 (link to chat)Is Pablo Sandoval's ass bigger than Kevin Mench's head?
(dianagramr from NYC)
Yes. But smaller than Benny Agbayani's. (Kevin Goldstein)
2010-05-05 13:00:00 (link to chat)Toronto has always known just how good Halladay was. A couple of freak injuries have held him down as well... he'd have won a second Cy if not for the Kevin Mench line drive of doom breaking his leg right before the All Star game some years ago.
(Aaron from YYZ)
Oh, I know Toronto has known. And we knew, too. But everyone else seems to be on board now. (Marc Normandin)
2008-09-10 13:00:00 (link to chat)Are the Jays contenders if they would have started the season with Gaston and giving Lind more playing time or is this just a nice looking winning streak that has happened late in the season?
(Ted from at the pool)
Lind's presence over the dessicated remains of Shannon Stewart or Kevin Mench/Brad Wilkerson certainly would have improved matters, but there's a lot of other factors that would have had to go right - better health (and fortune) from Dustin McGowan, Shaun Marcum, B.J. Ryan, Vernon Wells, Scott Rolen... wow, that's a lot right there. A.J. Burnett avoiding his mid-season cold streak, too. Given some better luck in breaks like those, they coulda been contenders, but as it is, it's just a nice-looking winning streak. Their potential as spoilers (7 games vs. Boston as Joe from Tewksbury mentioned above) probably shouldn't be underestimated. (Jay Jaffe)
2008-06-20 13:30:00 (link to chat)Hey Joe, how long do you think the Blue Jays will let Adam Lind crush the ball in AAA before giving him a real shot in the bigs? I know he has struggled when they bring him up and play him once a week, but will he ever get a fair shot? Is there anybody who has been mishandled more than Mr. Lind?
(Steve from Cambridge)
Plenty of guys have been handled worse than Lind has. Willie Greene mocks his pain, for one. I just don't get how a team can choose Shannon Stewart, who's just a terrible baseball player now, over Lind. Or drag in Brad Wilkerson and Kevin Mench. Or play Joe Inglett. It just doesn't make sense. (Joe Sheehan)
