2021-03-26 13:00:00 (link to chat)Who are some position players and pitchers who you could see jumping up into your top 30 dynasty prospect rankings for next year? Who could move up the rankings fast?
(Bob May from Louisville)
For each, I'd say anyone in the top 50 could jump into the top 30 so I'll keep the answer to outside of top 50 with the most upside.

Position players: Luis Matos (54), Jordyn Adams (69), Orelvis Martinez (71), the IFAs (Diaz, Colmenarez & Hernandez)

Pitchers: Asa Lacy (52), Shane Baz (60), Max Meyer (61), George Kirby (76), Hunter Greene (101) (Jesse Roche)
2021-02-17 13:00:00 (link to chat)I know there is limited information out there, but do you feel Asa Lacy possesses the type of stuff to propel him on a faster timeline than most 2020 draftees. Could we see him in KC in this year?
(CubbieBear from Chi-Town)
Lacy was my favorite arm in this year's draft by a pretty wide margin. I wouldn't expect him to show up in Kansas City in 2021, but if he just dominates the minors, a relief cameo in September wouldn't be crazy. (Mark Barry)
2020-06-10 19:00:00 (link to chat)Why does major league baseball value left handed starting pitching? It is easy to stack a line up with righties. There are usually cheap corner outfielders available whose sole skill is smashing left-handed pitching. Only 20% of the pitchers in the hall of fame are left-handed. Why? Rs
(mikewilsonelgin from Rhode island)
Because there are also a lot of elite lefty hitters who struggle against lefty pitching. Studies have shown the platoon split has a bigger effect on lefty vs lefty than righty vs righty. Also, presuming this is a question applying to Asa Lacy, he has an arsenal that could be equally affective to both righties and lefties. (Keanan Lamb)
2020-04-03 13:00:00 (link to chat)I play in an open universe dynasty league and one of the better teams in our league just drafted Asa Lacy, Nick Gonzales, Zac Veen, Reid Detmers, and Jud Fabian (2021) this year. And then he picked up Nick Bitsko and, for next year's class, Brady House and Braylon Bishop. He's basically rebuilt while simultaneously competing. I don't have a question. I just wanted to say I'm super jealous and wish I'd thought of this strategy myself.
(Chris from E-Ville)
Ha nice work! No matter your contention cycle, you should always be looking to improve or subtly rebuild. I am all about competitive rebuilds. (Jesse Roche)
2020-03-27 13:00:00 (link to chat)Is there a major league comp out there for a pitcher like Asa Lacy?
(Big Time Timmy Jim from Let Timmy Smoke!)
Comps are dangerous, but maybe Blake Snell as a 6-foot-4 LHP with four pitches, three potential plus, and shaky command. (Jesse Roche)
2020-03-20 13:00:00 (link to chat)Emerson Hancock's stock seemed to take a hit early this spring. I've read that his delivery has issues and that he has a slight head-whack. Is there anything else in the profile that should keep an MLB team or a dynasty owner from considering him the top pitcher in the class? With 2 plus pitches and 2 more above-average with above-average control, shouldn't he be a pretty sure bet to be a quality big league starter?
(Tentin Quarantino from In my TP castle)
The other concern is arm health (isn't it always). Hancock's command has been more hit or miss since his lat strain last year. I still prefer him as the top pitcher in this class.

Prep righties (Kelley or Abel) have a poor track record. Asa Lacy still has borderline command, despite dominant stuff. (Jesse Roche)
2020-03-20 13:00:00 (link to chat)Asa Lacy or Daniel Lynch for dynasty?
(Motaurhead from Ace of Spades)
Lacy by a hair. Higher upside. (Jesse Roche)
2020-03-13 13:00:00 (link to chat)Who are your top 10 prospects for 2021 first year player drafts? So basically, the guys that will be taken in this year's MLB draft. Craig told me to ask you.
(Brent from Tacoma)
1) Spencer Torkelson, 1B, ASU
2) Austin Martin, IF, Vanderbilt
3) Nick Gonzales, 2B, New Mexico State
4) Tetsuto Yamada, 2B, NPB (assuming posting)
5) Seiya Suzuki, OF, NPB (assuming posting)
6) Garrett Mitchell, OF, UCLA
7) Emerson Hancock, RHP, Georgia
8) Blaze Jordan, 1B/3B, HS
9) Zac Veen, OF, HS
