2021-07-12 12:00:00 (link to chat)Bachman at #10 for the Angels probably only makes sense if they are able to get someone like Chandler or Taylor in round 2, right?
(Robert from CA)
Not necessarily. They were going to go one of two ways at #10, either the super athlete they've targeted in previous years or the college arm that can move quickly through the system. Reid Detmers from last year looks like a solid pick thus far. Bachman has much louder stuff than him, albeit with some health questions. As said previously, this draft has plenty of high-end prep talent they can now dip into with their second pick. (Keanan Lamb)
2021-04-30 13:00:00 (link to chat)Did MWG fleece me in a dynasty trade where I gave up Mahle and Reid Detmers for his Yermin Mercedes + Adolis Garcia
(Boo from TD from Bottom of Standings)
Sorry, but I do not like that deal for you. I do think much of what Mercedes is doing is legitimate, but he carries so much long-term risk given his DH-only profile and the presence of Jose Abreu, Andrew Vaughn, and Eloy Jimenez on that roster. As I noted in the Top-500 article, I am buying Mahle given his fastball progression. Garcia likely is organizational depth long-term given his approach (lack thereof) and contact issues, though he does have above-average power and speed, and plays solid outfield defense. (Jesse Roche)
2020-04-03 13:00:00 (link to chat)I play in an open universe dynasty league and one of the better teams in our league just drafted Asa Lacy, Nick Gonzales, Zac Veen, Reid Detmers, and Jud Fabian (2021) this year. And then he picked up Nick Bitsko and, for next year's class, Brady House and Braylon Bishop. He's basically rebuilt while simultaneously competing. I don't have a question. I just wanted to say I'm super jealous and wish I'd thought of this strategy myself.
(Chris from E-Ville)
Ha nice work! No matter your contention cycle, you should always be looking to improve or subtly rebuild. I am all about competitive rebuilds. (Jesse Roche)
