2010 Chad Paronto pitched pretty well at Round Rock, but didn't get much of a shot with the Astros aside from two short stints, pretty much replicating his 2008 season. He'll be 35 this summer, but there are worse guys in major league bullpens-don't be surprised if he gets another shot somewhere.
2009 A big guy who doesn't throw like one, Chad Paronto keeps riding the unlit nightmare highways that thread through the abandoned wastes that lie between the majors and Triple-A.
2008 Paronto lost his middle-innings job to Moylan in July and was designated for assignment after the season. A big guy, Paronto's back-to-back good ERAs should land him a low-leverage role in an MLB bullpen this spring, but don't look for him to make it three in a row; he may be a big guy, but he doesn't have big-guy stuff.
2007 Back in the majors for the first time since 2003, Paronto didn`t merely peep in and play tourist, he managed to stick around and have a career year. He also managed to give up a significant number of line drives without suffering proportionate damage. If things even out in 2007, he`ll be back in the minors but quick. Until then, he`s the latest successful reclamation project from an organization with a good track record finding out-of-nowhere relief help.
2003 You came close, but you never made it. And if you were going to make it, you would have made it before now.
— Marsellus Wallace

For years, Paronto has posted bad ratios across the board in every one of his minor league stops. This year he had some arm trouble, too. Yeah, he’s still only 27 and there’s still some chance he might wake up tomorrow and throw an extra three miles faster with better control. Unfortunately for Paronto, it’s not going to happen. Fortunately for the Indians, they have more replacements than they can count on both hands.
2002 Paronto made a partial move to the bullpen in 2000, and in 2001 he stayed there. It didn't help, as he continued his taterrific ways. He’s big, he throws hard, and he's another one of the Orioles’ favored projects from the Northeast. Paronto will either get a lot of player-development people fired, or he'll contribute to the ongoing malaise choking the life out of the organization.
