2020-02-14 13:00:00 (link to chat) | Hey thanks for the chat. Who are a few of your favorite break out guys this year? (sykklone from IA) | Other than the J2 guys I already mentioned, and trying not to pick the obvious guys, I'll go position-by-position:
Catcher - Miguel Amaya First Base - Bryce Ball Second Base - Miguel Hiraldo, Maikol Escotto, Keithron Moss & Kendall Simmons Third Base - Hudson Potts & Aaron Schunk Shortstop - Jose Garcia, Ryan Vilade, Maikel Garcia & Jacob Amaya Outfield - Heriberto Hernandez, Kyle Isbel, Peyton Burdick, Bryant Packard & Brayan Buelvas Pitcher - Cole Winn, Luis Medina, Tahmaj Thomas, Blake Walston, Luis Frias, Adam Kloffenstein, Daulton Jefferies, Ricky Vanasco & Yerry Rodriguez (Jesse Roche) |
2018-05-25 12:15:00 (link to chat) | Ryan Vilade seems to have taken a huge step back so far this year after an impressive breakout. He's at .220/.354/.280 in Asheville. Any concern with the slow start? I thought he might be a guy who really shot up lists this year if he built on his debut. (Ben from Denver) | Admittedly haven't gotten a look at Vilade in 2018 but the walks are still there and the BABIP is about normal. It's not encouraging because Asheville is already a great place to hit overall. I think there's some concern with the slow start with the acknowledgement that it's still only May and if he hit's like he's capable of the rest of the year, no one is going to put much of a weight into a slow couple of months. (Craig Goldstein) |
2018-02-05 12:00:00 (link to chat) | Which Rockies infield prospects have the best chance of making a top 100 someday? Garrett Hampson? Colton Welker? Ryan Vilade? (Charlie from DC) | Welker and Vilade both have decent shots. Welker the edge because of what he's already done. Hampson is more of a grindy 45 type. He does have a pretty vocal advocate in the room in Wilson though. (Top 101 with Jeffrey Paternostro) |
2018-01-11 13:00:00 (link to chat) | What's the realistic offensive HR and slash line for Ryan Vilade? Trying to prevent myself from getting too hyped. (Samuel from Colorado Springs) | Taking Coors out of it, something like .250/20 bombs while playing a decent third base seems around the median. (Jeffrey Paternostro) |
