2020-09-16 13:00:00 (link to chat)Do you expect Corbin Martin to be in the rotation for the dbacks next year and are you buying in?
(Evan mecham from Phoenix)
Yeah, I liked him before he went down with the injury and I thought he was a sneaky grab for AZ in that deal. It's hard to say much given how long he's been out but assuming his return to health leaves his stuff in tact, I'm very interested. (Craig Goldstein)
2020-01-29 13:00:00 (link to chat)Which one of these teams is closest to (or in your opinion, within) the top five in the NL: The Diamondbacks or the Phillies
(one of those new, awful new era hats from Montana)
Give me the DBacks. I really like what they've done in terms of depth. The Phillies have a lot of upside but it relies on their topline guys staying healthy. I think people are underestimating what Arizona has now at the upper levels. Their flashy guys are further off, but they have a bunch of multipositional types to cover injury and their starting pitching depth is really impressive. Corbin Martin will be healthy at some point, Alex Young was really good last year in limited time, Duplantier, Widener...it's a lot of guys to cycle through (and help the bullpen if needed). (Craig Goldstein)
2019-04-17 13:00:00 (link to chat)I've been intrigued with Corbin Martin since early last year and his numbers continue to show progress. Is he a future starter?
(Mike from Ohio)
Yeah, I think so. That Astros system is stocked with arms and it can be really hard to determine who is going to start based on how they're used in the minors, but Martin is one of the guys I feel a little more confident in. He's an underrated guy. (Craig Goldstein)
2019-02-06 21:00:00 (link to chat)I am rebuilding in a dynasty league and the core of my team is made up of Trea Turner, Kyle Schwarber, Bichette, Adell, Huira, Luzardo, Walker Buehler, Flaherty and Jameson Tallion. Some prospects that I have that are further away are Kelenic, Swaggerty, Hoerner, Oneill Cruz, Bryse Wilson, Eric Pardinho, Graterol, and Corbin Martin. From a roster construction stand point, would you trade Keston Huira for Forrest Whitley because I seem to have more hitting depth and Whitley has a shot to be an ace or would you keep Huira because pitchers are hurt so often and hitters tend to last a decade? Muchas Gracias. I will save you some rings.
(Sonic Not the Hedgehog from Eating Rings Somewhere)
I would not make that trade. If you're rebuilding, there's no reason to push in for pitchers until you're ready to turn the corner. -BS (Dynasty 101 Chat w/ Ben Carsley and Bret Sayre)
2018-09-10 14:00:00 (link to chat)Is Corbin Martin the real deal? He looks it.
(Mac from Philly)
He's passed every test so far with aplomb. I don't know that there's much more than a mid-rotation guy at best there, which is by no means a knock, but maybe not quite as exciting as the numbers suggest. (Darius Austin)
2018-06-22 13:00:00 (link to chat)How good is Corbin Martin? Possible to be in the '19 Top 101 discussion?
(Bobby Bradley's 40-time from MA)
These dudes tend to be in discussion in like the 80-150 tier and I tend to not love them. But he's also basically having the Corbin Burnes season and Burnes made it. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2018-05-25 12:15:00 (link to chat)Has Corbin Martin changed his stock enough with his performance so far this year to be a top 101 consideration next year?
(Mark from San Antonio)
I haven't really heard significant buzz beyond the results. I think he was pretty well liked out of the draft and this only secures that viewpoint a bit, but nothing specifically has been mentioned in terms of adjusting his ceiling just yet. Or if it has, I haven't heard it, which doesn't mean it hasn't been mentioned. (Craig Goldstein)
