2019-02-06 21:00:00 (link to chat) | What J2 guys from 2016 or 2017 should we keep an eye on this year?
(davinhbrown from Moon) | I'm deliberately excluding players from the 101, but I like Everson Pereira, Miguel Hiraldo, Eric Pardinho, Freudis Nova, Yasel Antuna (yes, still) and Leuri Mejia in varying degrees as potential risers. -BS (Dynasty 101 Chat w/ Ben Carsley and Bret Sayre) |
2019-02-06 21:00:00 (link to chat) | How far back does Yasel Antuna's injury? Should I hold or move on to another penny stock J2 signing? Antuna's can't be too far off the 101 right? (Hacek from Richton park) | A healthy Antuna is a 101 candidate next year, so I think it's too early to fold on him unless you can get someone with similar upside back when you do. -BS (Dynasty 101 Chat w/ Ben Carsley and Bret Sayre) |
2018-04-27 12:00:00 (link to chat) | BP had an interesting write up on Yasel Antuna the other day. The bat seems to be his carrying tool. What kind of power/hit tool are we talking, if it all works out for him? (Kolby from East Lansing) | Javi and Keith both saw similar things over the last two years, with Keith a little more bullish on the glove. Probably something like a 55/55 third baseman if it works out. What are the switch-hitting third baseman comps nowadays? Solarte? Antuna is more athletic at present, but the body could go that way. So I can sort of see that. (I hate comps) (Jeffrey Paternostro) |
2018-04-10 13:00:00 (link to chat) | Can u rank order these SS for long term fantasy upside in a deep dynasty:
Freudis Nova, Louis Garcia, Wander Franco, Yasel Antuna, or Wander Javier? (Loria from Milwaukee) | Antuna not my favorite but should be average; he just may not stick at shorstop. Nova has a bit more upside. Luis Garcia has higher speed upside, a nice BA floor, but power may take some time. Franco is so young that his upside seems very high, but I just don't like the long wait because a lot can go wrong. Javier is also a high-risk, high-reward guy with good speed. Pure upside, take Franco or Javier. But for a bit more safety, I'd go Garcia for speed and then Nova. (Kevin Jebens) |
2017-07-18 14:00:00 (link to chat) | How are the Nationals' big J2 2016 signings (Luis Garcia, Yasel Antuna, Jose Sanchez) faring in the GCL? (Andrew from Boston) | Hey Andrew, they are faring well in their first pro season. I have caught them all in Extended, and they have held their own. Antuna, I Ten-Packed which you can find in his player card. Some swing and miss, but he should hit for power and average in the corner OF with below average speed. Garcia is an overly aggressive hitter who is learning the strike zone, approach and how to use his legs. it is a very contact approach swing, but you see the tools of staying in the middle. Sanchez is a light bat, mediocre speed, and more of a MIF glove guy, probably role 4. he is young and his body is medium size, so maybe he can grow into something more. (Javier Barragan) |
