2019-11-13 13:00:00 (link to chat) | Does Anthony Kay have a Gio Gonzalez profile as his upside? (noelman from Portland ) | Gio had a legit 7 curveball for most of his peak. So that's going to be the difference there I think. (Toronto Blue Jays Top 10 Chat) |
2019-09-13 12:00:00 (link to chat) | What do you make of Anthony Kay’s comments about the Mets vs Jays AAA approaches to him? (LJ from Brooklyn) | It's a good reminder that a lot of player dev is getting the player on board by communicating the why. (Jeffrey Paternostro) |
2019-07-08 20:00:00 (link to chat) | Anthony Kay make his debut this year (Winston from Toledo) | Yes, for all the reasons in the last question. (Jarrett Seidler) |
2019-05-31 13:00:00 (link to chat) | Zac Gallen or Anthony Kay?? Both?? Neither?? Is it close?? (sykklone from IA) | Gallen, for me. He experienced a bit of a velocity uptick last year, and it appears the Marlins have a good pitching development team in place (see: Edward Cabrera, etc.). In the end, I'm more confident that Gallen can stick in the rotation long-term, while Kay might need to move to the bullpen. (J.P. Breen) |
2019-05-22 13:00:00 (link to chat) | Zac Gallen or Anthony Kay?? (sykklone from IA) | I'd take Gallen right now. (Craig Goldstein) |
2019-05-01 12:00:00 (link to chat) | The Mets were hyping Anthony Kay all spring and the results have been pretty good so far (not so much with Peterson). Also, i'd seen reports that his velo had been a bit up. What's the outlook here and is he a possibility for a callup later in the year? (Jose from Brooklyn) | Yeah, it's good and he's clearly the best pitching prospect in the system now. Now that does speak some to the system, but he's a three pitch lefty with a couple pitches you don't have to squint hard to see 55s. Honestly he might be the best starting pitching depth option RIGHT NOW looking at just guys in the minors, but I don't think pushing him quickly would be good for his development or the Mets 2019 season. (Jeffrey Paternostro) |
2018-06-29 13:00:00 (link to chat) | I've penciled Anthony Kay into my 2022 dynasty rotation. How excited should I be? (Eddie from Make a Wish Foundation) | This is a stunning own of the Mets slow player development tracks whether on purpose or not. Eh, he's been fine I guess, but I'd want a heckuva lot more upside if I was planning for 2022 (Jeffrey Paternostro) |
2018-04-20 12:00:00 (link to chat) | How are the early reports on Anthony Kay? How quickly can he move through the system? (Jon from NY) | Up to the mid-90s, looks fine. I don't know why he started in the Sally for a variety of reasons. But I expect he will be in St. Lucie before long and could end the season in Bingo. (Jeffrey Paternostro) |
2016-12-22 13:00:00 (link to chat) | Who's the next Mets pictcher to pull a Degrom aka pull a Gselmman (Caris from Georgetown ) | Geez, greedy much? If we're talking about turning from a low-likelihood prospect to a legit MLB starter, maybe we just wait on Anthony Kay? (Bryan Grosnick) |
