2021-04-30 13:00:00 (link to chat)Any chance to see Tony Gonsolin before Memorial Day? He pitched so well in limited innings the last 2 seasons.
(ironcityguys from daBurgh)
Last question!

No, I do not think Gonsolin arrives before Memorial Day. He is recovering from shoulder inflammation and started a throwing program last Saturday. The Dodgers can afford to play it safe with Gonsolin. Even when he does return, it likely will be to a relief role this year. (Jesse Roche)
2021-03-12 15:00:00 (link to chat)Ryan Pepiot. Starter or reliever?? Can you explain your thoughts as to why? Thank you.
(Vanessa from Des Moines)
I mean the cheat answer is he's probably getting used in something along the Victor Gonzalez->Tony Gonsolin continuum. It's a really good changeup, but I'm generally more leery of those guys being able to spam it enough to turn over a lineup multiple times. It would also allow him to air out the fastball at 95 a bit more. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2020-10-07 13:00:00 (link to chat)Wish the Colonel had tossed Tony Gonsolin and/or Dustin May into his pitcher question
(mikejunt from Lincoln NE)
I'd put them towards the front of that list. (Craig Goldstein)
2020-09-23 13:00:00 (link to chat)How much do you like the following young arms? Ian Anderson, Randy Dobnak, Logan Webb, and Tony Gonsolin. Is there a drop off after Anderson? or Gonsolin? or much at all?
(ironcityguys from daBurgh)
A lot, indifferent, nah, and a fair amount. Yes, I think there's a significant drop off between Anderson and Gonsolin, and then a bigger on from Gonsolin to Dobnak and Webb. (Craig Goldstein)
2019-10-04 14:15:00 (link to chat)Can Logan Webb, Tony Gonsolin or Jose Urquidy be anything more than a #5?
(Stubby Clapp from St. Louis)
I'd bet on Gonsolin first here, while noting that the Dodgers are going to use him in weird ways. Urquidy next, as the Astros tend to do well with these kind of arms. Logan Webb might just be a #5. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2019-08-23 15:30:00 (link to chat)Tony Gonsolin and Dustin May seem to be pretty close in development. May has been project as a having front of rotation stuff. Where does Gonsolin fall?
(CubbieBear from Chi-Town)
He's more of a 4/5 to me, with a moderately high relief risk. The stuff just isn't as good or consistent as May. (Craig Goldstein)
2019-08-06 12:00:00 (link to chat)Is Tony Gonsolin really this good? Has his delivery taken another step forward or are we seeing Ross Stripling 2.0?
(CubbieBear from Chi-Town)
He's probably not quite THIS good. He doesn't really have a track record of consistently throwing this many strikes anywhere. But also if he's Ross Stripling but durable, that's a pretty good major league arm. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2019-01-23 12:00:00 (link to chat)How much consideration did Tony Gonsolin get for the top 101? Personal cheesball of mine, I get DeGrom-lite vibes from him. P.S. Hope Wednesday is ready to get dunked on by CHO and Ampadu next week.
(Cpwood from DE)
He's also a personal cheeseball of Wilson. He wasn't really on the 101 radar but he places pretty high on tomorrow's Dodgers list all things considered.

P.S. I'm extremely prepared for a hammering. Willian versus Morgan Fox is not, uh, ideal. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
