2020-02-28 13:00:00 (link to chat)Do you think we're talking about Blake Walston and/or Luis Frias as top 100 dynasty prospects a few months or a year from now? Walston strikes me as an under the radar guy who could really ascend lists in a single season like Nate Pearson.
(Mike from Tempe)
Walston is no Nate Pearson, but he could rise similar to Grayson Rodriguez if he impresses in full-season ball. Not sure he will be assigned there, though. Frias has a nice arsenal, but he needs to refine his command and he turns 22 in May. He will need to make big moves through the system to crack top 100s. I imagine he starts in High-A. (Jesse Roche)
2020-02-14 13:00:00 (link to chat)Hey thanks for the chat. Who are a few of your favorite break out guys this year?
(sykklone from IA)
Other than the J2 guys I already mentioned, and trying not to pick the obvious guys, I'll go position-by-position:
Catcher - Miguel Amaya
First Base - Bryce Ball
Second Base - Miguel Hiraldo, Maikol Escotto, Keithron Moss & Kendall Simmons
Third Base - Hudson Potts & Aaron Schunk
Shortstop - Jose Garcia, Ryan Vilade, Maikel Garcia & Jacob Amaya
Outfield - Heriberto Hernandez, Kyle Isbel, Peyton Burdick, Bryant Packard & Brayan Buelvas
Pitcher - Cole Winn, Luis Medina, Tahmaj Thomas, Blake Walston, Luis Frias, Adam Kloffenstein, Daulton Jefferies, Ricky Vanasco & Yerry Rodriguez (Jesse Roche)
2019-09-25 13:00:00 (link to chat)Thoughts on Luis Frias? Is he a guy that could emerge as a top SP prospect next year?
(Sean from Boston)
I don't think he quite goes to the top tier of the lists but he's a really intriguing guy. Another arm I like that I don't see people talking about a ton is Hector Yan. 148 strikeouts in 109 IP in Low-A at 20 years old. He walks too many guys, but that's eyepopping in terms of Ks.
