2019-02-06 21:00:00 (link to chat)Pure closer prospects are obviously kind of rare since usually they're failed starting pitching prospects, but are there any that fit that description worth keeping an eye on in deeper leagues? Burdi, anyone else?
(Nothing from Clever)
Dylan Cease, Taylor Hearn and Nate Pearson are guys who I hope can stick in the rotation but who are honestly more likely to be closer-type relievers. Burdi is a good one. Dakota Hudson and Yency Almonte could get there. Another sleeper candidate -- Durbin Feltman in Boston. - BC (Dynasty 101 Chat w/ Ben Carsley and Bret Sayre)
2018-06-29 13:00:00 (link to chat)Taylor Hearn has been getting some attention. 95 from the left side and emerging consistency in the secondaries. He's already surprised, how much more is in there?
(Tony the Tiger from Brookfield)
I think you get the most out of him by letting him max out in two-inning pen stints. Could be like 96-98 with cut and feel for an above-average slider. As a starter I just don't know if he has the full arsenal or stamina to turn over a lineup multiple times, but if you are the Pirates it's reasonable to give him a little more time to prove that he can't before letting him loose as a relief arm. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2018-06-22 13:00:00 (link to chat)The top 10 current prospects Mike Rizzo has traded away are the ____th best top 10 in baseball. A list for you to choose from: Jesus Luzardo, Sheldon Neuse, Dane Dunning, Taylor Hearn, Blake Perkins, Kelvin Gutierrez, Yohanse Morel, Tyler Watson, McKenzie Mills, Pedro Avila, Max Schrock, and Travis Ott.
(Andrew from Boston)
It's a decent top three in Jesus Lizard, Dunning, Hearn, but it drops off pretty quickly. Bottom five, better than the Mariners and the Giants off the top of my head. Rizzo gets a bit underrated as a GM still I think. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2017-05-10 13:00:00 (link to chat)Best under the radar prospects in the Pirates organization? (Luis Escobar, Taylor Hearn)?
(Bill Scott from Mayor)
OK, full disclosure: When I get prospects questions, I refer to the BP Annual. Luis Escobar isn't even in it. Hearn has only a Lineout. Can I answer Ke'Bryan Hayes, or is he not under the radar? Sorry, this is not my long suit. (Rob Mains)
2017-05-04 13:00:00 (link to chat)What is the upside of Taylor Hearn? Seems like another Felipe Rivero at least...
(Simple World from The Escape Lounge)
Hey another Steve eyewitness from today, you should check it out, but are also in the right range there. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
