2019-04-24 13:00:00 (link to chat) | What would Toronto want from Milwaukee for Justin Smoak?
Asking for a friend. (Phil from Toronto) | I don't know exactly what they'd want, but I can't see Milwaukee being desperate for Smoak. Aguilar has been brutal but Thames has been fine and they have enough depth that they can either shift Moustakas or Shaw to first and call up Hiura if they need. So maybe Toronto seeks a Marcos Diplan or Trey Supak but it's hard for me to see Milwaukee biting on that given their options. (Craig Goldstein) |
2016-11-22 20:00:00 (link to chat) | Marcos Diplan make a serious move up lists this year? (Sean99 from Chicago) | He could. James likes him. Everyone mentions "reliever" somewhere in his profile though, and that can stifle the big move some. (Jarrett Seidler) |
2016-06-27 20:00:00 (link to chat) | Seems you catch a lot of Rattler games - thoughts on the recent hype surrounding Marcos Diplan? Lots of Ks! Forgetting his frame, he just looks all arm action, and the secondaries didn't look special. He looks like a future reliever. That fastball though, and commanding it. Wow. What's your big league projection on Diplan? (Yes Cheese from Nation) | I'm based out of Milwaukee so Appleton is an easy get for me. I have an eyewitness report in the queue for him so it should be coming soon but I agree with you, his frame screams reliever. The breaking ball has a chance to be average to a tick above and the changeup at times flashes average. I'm still in the starter camp with Diplan but time will tell how he handles the innings going forward. (James Fisher) |
2016-05-31 19:00:00 (link to chat) | Out of the three pitchers the Brewers acquired in trades last year (Freddy Peralta, Marcos Diplan, and Bubba Derby) which one is most likely to contribute at the major league level and what does that pitcher need to work on?
(Jordan Clark from Milwaukee) | Freddy Peralta has really made strides since the beginning of the year so give me him over Diplan. He's most likely a bullpen arm but it has a chance to be a good one. I haven't seen Derby yet this year so I don't feel comfortable talking about his projection. (James Fisher) |
2015-12-15 14:00:00 (link to chat) | Sickels notes Marcos Diplan as a high upside arm in the Brewers system, but he seems to be under the radar ... your take? (traindoggah from maine) | I don't know if under-the-radar is fair, he was certainly considered for the top 10 and he would have made a top 15. I'm a fan, 60 fastball, solid-average curve, improving feel for pitching. Wouldn't shock me if he was a reliever because of the delivery, but, a really good one, and if he can hone it in he could be a No. 3. (Christopher Crawford) |
