2021-06-30 13:00:00 (link to chat) | The Angels are playing Luis Rengifo in RF (.138/.167/.259) in RF. When do we see Jo Adell (.262/.318/.579 at SL)? (KerryFam4 from Florida) | I get the desire to see Adell (I was basically his biggest booster pre-2020 call up), but there were real issues exposed and it's not clear to me that his slugging at Triple-A necessarily negates those concerns. He needs to make better contact on pitches in the zone, or he's going to get eaten alive like Keston Hiura did before his recent adjustment. Once he makes that change, I think he'll show up in Anaheim. (Craig Goldstein) |
2020-02-21 13:00:00 (link to chat) | The Dodgers were seemingly going to trade Stripling and Joc for Luis Rengifo. Is there another team that should jump on a similar deal? I was thinking maybe the Nats could pursue those two guys for someone like Tim Cate, who is obviously a far better prospect than Rengifo but would still make sense. (Dan from DC) | Man, two Tim Cate questions! Our prospect team has Cate as an OFP 50 / No. 4 or No. 5 starter. Rengifo, meanwhile last year, was an OFP 50—Second-division keystoner who plays up into an average regular for several years and plays for a long time. Realistically, both are probably 45 role players. I imagine the Dodgers still look to move Pederson and/or Stripling. Plenty of time before the season still. (Jesse Roche) |
2019-05-20 12:00:00 (link to chat) | I'm in a 16-team dynasty, salary cap league, H2H 14 categories, with 50 milb rosters. I have grabbed a bunch of call-ups this year including Josh Fuentes, Bryan Reynolds, Ty France, Kelvin Gutierrez and Luis Rengifo.Any here I should sign to a rookie contract when he hits his rookie minimums?
Christian Walker just hit his minimums and I inked him to a rookie deal. Will I regret it or is he for real?
thanks (slappy123 from Charlotte, NC) | Ah well. Rengifo is the best combination of talent/path to consistent playing time here. Walker I am not complete sold on but I always wait as long as I can on overaged breakout corner dudes. (Jeffrey Paternostro) |
2019-02-11 13:00:00 (link to chat) | Luis Rengifo...will he be able to shed his utility infielder label? 2018 was impressive at a young age across multiple levels. (EricM from Ohio) | I'm not sure utility infielder is as much faint praise as it used to be. It wouldn't shock me to see him get a little run in Anaheim this summer, in kind of a David Fletcher mold. I like Rengifo's future prospects more than Fletcher, though. (Mark Barry) |
2019-02-11 13:00:00 (link to chat) | Scoresheet question [multiple leagues] - Which prospects on (or should be on) the recently-published Dynasty Prospects list are significantly better for Scoresheet Baseball than for regular Fantasy? Other than "SB guys", which are significantly worse? (Homer from Springfield) | Honestly, I think for Scoresheet leagues, the non-fantasy 101 could be a better translator. With defense and approach key components for Scoresheet success, "glove-first" guys aren't as much of a disaster in Scoresheet as they are in traditional leagues. A guy like Andres Gimenez comes to mind-someone that does a bunch of things well and could ultimately play a few different postions. Luis Rengifo, like we talked about before, is another one. Flexibility is huge. (Mark Barry) |
