2014-09-23 13:00:00 (link to chat) | Rome (Braves) seemed utterly bereft of talent this year. If you had to choose one player on that team who had the best chance of cracking the majors, who would it be? (Dan from Raleigh, NC) | You are correct, Rome was pretty barren this season. Johan Camargo started off dreadfully but picked it up as the season progressed and earned a promotion to High-A. I don't think he sticks at shortstop, but he has utility potential if you view him optimistically. The aforementioned Connor Oliver could be a solid 4th outfielder. He has plus speed and can play center field well, and despite a somewhat unconventional swing, he seems to get it done. I like him a little. Tyler Brosius is a good arm who may make it to AAA and pitch some in long relief in a pinch. Brady Feigl is a lefty out of the pen with really good stuff who needs to gain better consistency but absolutely has a shot at as a middle reliever. Not bad for an undrafted arm. (Ethan Purser) |
